fukk Tarantino, they didn't want to pay him $1M for a lead on a $300 million movie? Fishburne made the right decision and banked off the Matrix. He didn't end up with SLJ's career, but he was never going to be him anyway.

Wrong movie

Will talked about turning down Neo last year.

As a matter of fact, he brings that fateful decision up every few years. I think that's his biggest regret as far as career choices go.

See, this is exactly what I was talking about. The Wachowski's were pitching some wild shyt, that had never been done, and they only had done one B list movie (Bound) before, when they pitched Will. It sounded like a risk to him. I understand why he turned it down. Do I wish he didn't? Of course I do. But I understand.

And of course I don't think he should've done Wild Wild West :hhh:

Me too. I was watching the movies that made us on Netflix and they talk about who they were going to cast in Die Hard before landing on Bruce Willis.

They also have an episode on Ghostbusters. People always say Eddy Murphy was supposed to be Winston but originally he was supposed to be Bill Murray's character. When they got to casting Winsethey didn't have enough money and didn't go for Murphy. John Belushi was supposed to be Egon but he died while Dan Aykroyd was writing/pitching the movie.

That series was great on Netflix.

He would’ve been dope. Probably even better than Sam.
He wouldve been great but i think Sam was perfect for the bible verse scene. that performance is iconic. Fishburne wouldve been perfect for the scenes in the diner but i think Sam was better for showing the evolution of the character
He has had an incredible career without this role though. Apocalypse Now, Boyz n the Hood, King of New York, Deep Cover, The Matrix
Lowkey Fish wouldve been a better Mace Windu though :youngsabo:
:mjlol: will chose wild wild west instead, which was atrocious.

Plus Wild Wild West was going to be directed by Barry Sonnenfield, who had just directed Will in Men in Black, which was a massive hit. And he was going to be starring with Oscar winner Kevin Kline and acclaimed actor/director Kenneth Branagh and prime Salma Hayek. Wild Wild West also had tons of merchandising licenses. I still have a pair of WWW sunglasses that I got from Burger King. And maybe the movie sounded good on paper. Who knows? The final product was :trash: though.

Not the Bible scene, sams voice was perfect for it
Yea thats the opening apartment scene? In terms of shouting it out Sam > Fish.

However, at the end of the movie Fish would have nailed that Bible scene just as well.

Although I do agree with the poster saying how with Sam you could see how he "evolved"
