thats not what i said. but west indians have made a huge impact in the founding of hip hop. the South Bronx was mostly people of Caribbean descent (if you include the Puerto Ricans) then. there are a lot of factors in hip hop's creation. but explain why is was only after large scale immigration from the Caribbean that hip hop developed when AAs have been rapping for centuries? also, if you take away the contributions of Caribbean Hispanics and Franco-/Anglo-phone West Indians since the beginning of hip ho, hip hop wouldn't be where it is

do you agree or disagree?

And even disco and its origins are tied to the marriage of funk and salsa.

Regardless of what you say, it is the marriage of many from the African Diaspora that created hip-hop. Bottom line, Puerto Ricans were always attached to the African Diaspoa more than other Latin groups.
Disco came out of funk, and soul, I don't know where you get salsa from. Down the line it played a part but not in the beginning.

I agree that it was people from different areas who helped create hip hop BUT it was the environment of NYC that created hip hop. The segregation created the need for block parties, and rec enter jams. The need to do something created the graffiti, and dancing. None of these things were created because someone came from another land, and brought it to NYC, which is why saying withoutmwest Indians hip hop wouldn't be created is being disingenuous.

Breh these dudes have no clue.
Then you should call out the numerous articles out there crediting Kool Herc with the creation of Hip-hop.

Google "Who created hip hop" Jamaican born Kool Herc is the first name that pops up.

And you will find people who were their discredit a lot of what he says. He is discrediting himself, because in some of his interviews, he says he didn't know how to DJ, and the reason he started playing breaks was because people were complaining. In another, he claims west Indian sound systems had no influence on him, and hip hop, in the beginning.
