Cuz, that's exactly why I voted for the casinos. My folks house in Ft. Washington so the shyt gon end up selling for WAY more than it would of had this shyt not went down. lol, I can't even imagine Biggie all up in Madness I know he used to be in da city but Madness is a far cry from all them Georgetown boutiques. I know 'face used to get big love out here back in the day, No Limit nikkaz, I never heard about Pac other than that dog attack story. Most rappers in DC's history got robbed or leaned on that'll always be one of the funny things about this place.

I can't see cacs taking PG tho, black people way too deep every level of the economic ladder is represented. At this point they'd have to move all the black people to the boonies in Charles, Cecil, Howard, Frederick, etc. I'm sayin wasn't the Caribbean festival canceled this year? More residual effects from the cacvasion. :beli:

I know Face rapped with Essence. I had that tape and played it regularly. Remember that used to be the big thing with Go-Go bands, when rappers would come through and rap with them? I remember when ODB played with Backyard but ODB ended up rapping throughout their entire set. Had G seriously crying like a bytch on stage that night! :laff:

Cacs are coming in and changing everything. They have named and renamed neighborhoods (what the hell is NoMa and Truxton Circle?). I remember they even tried to get the MLK parade shut down but DC moved it to April Fools Day :comeon:. That was messed up! Fish in The Hood is now called Fish in The NEIGHBORHOOD. I know they're gonna complain next about late/crowded bus service because I drive past them during rush hour and they be deep as hell, walking into the streets looking for the bus. I can hear them now saying, "This is unjustifiable"

I have family in Ft Washington too. I was trying to get out there myself but I'm from D.C., born and raised. I really don't wanna leave.

I'm dying right now imagine G raising his voice up there like a broad, that nikka voice deep as shyt on the mic. Slim, Go-Gos are a staple of local life here. I remember me and my nikkaz would be at the park or the basketball court fakin like a Go-Go band making up songs n shyt, shyt's easier than freestyling.

Real live they be blowin the shyt outta me and I don't even live in the city and never have other than the first year I moved here from OKC. When I started seeing cacs roll deep on the Million Dollar Block walkin they dogs carryin yoga mats n shyt that's when I knew shyt was real. Joe, my mans got robbed by Ibiza cuz one of the ditsy ass white girls we know fell for the okie doke from some young nikka(Prolly from Tyler House or the Cordas) thinking he was selling jewelry in a paper bag.

You noticed that too? They love yoga and they love dogs  .They've opened up yoga studios and random dog parks everywhere. It's ridiculous. Anything to push us the hell out. We have to support more of our businesses just to keep some flavor and variety in the midst of this gentrification.

Also, why have they complained sooo much about Adams Morgan just to turn around and create the same bar crawl area on H St. Their major complaint was the noise and too many liquor licenses being granted but they turn around and create another version. They just wanted to get away from us but that didn't last too long because we came right behind them with Blacks opening up bars and restaurants on H St (i.e. Avery's, Club 12).

There's dumb as shyt, why go to NE if you tryna get away from nikkaz. H st before the invasion was straight hood shyt. Even now they ain't gon change it completely Trinidad still wild, Benning still go, NE isn't Uptown at least Uptown got certain spots that's known outside of downtown. At this point blacks need to keep whatever they got left of Uptown and fortify themselves on the Eastside of the city. If black people lead the Anacostia revitalization it'd be a great start, but of course there's already bougie art galleries and cacs walking dogs right on the corner of MLK and Choppa City. :snoop:

It's just funny to me. Black people get money and can't wait to move to Clinton, Ft. Washington, Bowie, Waldorf, etc just so they can be a part of some of the worst traffic in the area knowing damn well the majority of them got a govt job of some sort. shyt is comedy to me, I can understand this being an area for older people or generally slowed down people but da city never been hotter and the residents that made it chocolate ain't even thinking to move there. :beli:

Yes, they've taken over MLK too. They recently announced some condo's and retail shops going up where Big K liquor store used to be. That whole stretch of MLK is about to be wiped out.

Some families don't respect the amount of time, blood, sweat and tears it took for Blacks to own their own homes. We were able to buy places on measly wages, every type of ism going on with bullshyt laws, fighting covenant laws and fighting the power at the same damn time :damn:. To let homes go so easy is a slap in the face to their struggle. This one guy who lives around Orleans told me that cacs walk up to his house asking to buy. They just DGAF!

nikka what? That whole section got cacs everywhere, back when I did that roadside shyt I had a job like 2 blocks from there and it was the most hippied out cac lady I ever seen. shyt's crazy, sometimes I drive down MLK by chance and just think of the multitude of things I'd do just with Anacostia's part alone. Black people missing out, I'm wondering if Ethiopians gon be smart enough to extend the operation East of the river. At least we can keep it black by complexion. :to:

You know what? Since we're being driven out, we should just start creating blocks and little pockets of Black businesses throughout the city like the Chinese, Ethi's and Hispanics have done. More than likely, this section would be East of the River. Have a strip of black businesses selling any and everything. I'd weep if it comes to this.

You'll know the exact corner I'm talking about, right by Anacostia station across from one of them charter schools on MLK is this big ass un-used lot. Everytime I drive by there I think how it could be turned into an urban garden and start a co-op there. I have no idea who to go to and how to start it tho. Something like that which would be community based and positive would be a great start toward building black businesses on the East side.

Yea, the lot across from Thurgood Marshall Charter School. I know of 4 of those gardens around the city. There's one behind 4D, one around 1-4, another off of Blair Rd/North Capitol, and another off Warder St across from Washington Hospital Center. I always wondered how those got started. I would look into it and do it. However, some people park on that lot sometimes so you may have to rope off your area.
