I dont know man the above listed are better actors but this is a something to ask the cac studios why. I bet they are willing to accept less money :snoop:
Yup...that and I think a lot of Brits go into acting because they're really about that thespian/stage life. If they become rich and famous, it's a bonus but they go to school and get advanced degrees for this shyt.

The top American actors like Denzel, Angela, Taraji etc., studied acting through school but a lot of the younger ones either went the Disney/Nickelodeon route or turned some kid modeling gigs into TV/movies. They're not "classically trained." Why pay more for a former Fruit Loops child actor when I can get some Yale/Oxford azz breh for 20% less $$$?

I'm not trying to shyt on american actors because they are talented but the schools that you see in england shyt all over the theater schools in the US

Not to mention most of the big actors in the US are just former child stars who are not really classically trained and cost $$$ to get roles
That more than anything is why the black brit actors are by and large ruling in hollywood
they are just better trained
the days of denzel and sam jack are over

We have Black American actors who are classically trained though
  • Jonathan Majors - Yale
  • Yahya Abdul-Mateen - Yale
  • Brian Tyree Henry - Yale
  • Chadwick Boseman (RIP) - Howard
  • Anthony Mackie - Juliard
And many more.

And surprise surprise all of them stay in more than steady work. In both massive franchise movies, TV and more artistic fare. Good actors will get work despite their nationalty.

There is also currently an abundance of extremely talented black actors out at the moment. Which is something that should be celebrated. But that does create competition as 'just good enough' isn't going to cut it anymore.

Moaning about black brit actors getting work is weak imo

I've seen many black brit actors say how hard it was when they first came over and we're going for castings. Nothing was given everything was worked for.

its not about them getting work. its about the broad stroke that they are better than their american contemporaries.

Mahershala Ali - NYU

There's a good number of highly successful trained American black actors and then you have a Lakieth Stansfield or John David Washington who aren't.

If Hollywood casts Idris, Chiwetel, Kaluuya, Kingsley, or Boyega it's because they're A-list or good actors.

Black American actors have played Africans and Brits. It's the performance that matters not the actor's nationality.

Black Brits are viewed as a higher class.

Probably because of the accent when they get interviewed.

They also don't have the history of this country replaying in their head when interacting with people over here.

They didn't want any non American actors on The Wire so the actors auditioned in American accents. Idris and several others won the auditions.

Studios and casting directors don't care anymore. White American actors are probably losing more roles than anyone. You think they're going to pass on Christian Bale or Fassbender?

Why don't they stay in their countries and fight for inclusion in the industry the way we did in our home country? Genuine question. Nothing is ever handed to you. You gotta do the work like we did.
Because they can come over here and benefit off of anti American Blackness

You think they all just showed up in American movies out the blue?

Daniel Kaluuya was on British TV shows and movies for years before getting into Hollywood.
Boyega got his breakthrough in a British movie. They all did TV, theater, commercials, films, etc in their own countries first

Hollywood is a global industry so of course foreign actors are going to attempt to get there because that's where the money and acclaim is.
