Does anyone really care about MVPs in football?

Winning bowls seems like the only objective in football whether it’s college or pro.

Which to me is weird cause football is the sport with the most moving parts. So a man like Eli Manning can have two rings with just a handful of lucky Hail Marys. Or how Peyton was perhaps the best in the league for 15 years, but one of the worst when he won his second ring. Like Bryce Young had better stats.

all due to defense.

Man’s said he’s a ring away from being even with a guy with 3 rings and 3 Super Bowl MVP’s. If that doesn’t show you how Lamar is judged on a curve..nothing ever will

Football is a true team sport. QB is the most important position but they still don't play defense or special teams and coaching is far more important in football than some other sports.

Judging a QB on "rings" alone is a new thing from dummies looking for hot takes. If you told someone Eli Manning has the edge on Dan Marino you'd get laughed out of the room.

That said, I don't think a ring alone means Lamar is now on Mahomes level. Mahomes been doing this for a long time now

It's pretty obvious that I'm bias towards Lamar but I don't see how with everything you posted you can say 1 ring puts him on an even level with Mahomes. Even if you take away the rings, Mahomes has him beat in most categories. I will admit that Mahomes hasn't looked that great these last two seasons but I put that more on his GM doing a horrible job of putting talent around him. I don't know why you dislike Mahomes so much but there's no need to discredit what he's done to try to amplify Lamar.

Breh I kinda hate you made this thread. Should have let him win a ring first and then make it. Just leads to endless hating if he doesn't get it done this year. It would have been too early as well, but at least it would have been coming off a championship.

The irony is, as a LeBron Stan yourself, this sort of reminds me of people saying KD was on Bron's level after he won back to back rings.

Lamar looks better than ever as a passer this year but his career playoff performance is still mediocre. It'll take a few good playoff runs to put him over Mahomes.

Lamar's best playoff run is Mahomes worst playoff run and that was his first year as a starter and that is still 2 games.

I feel the same way about this as I feel when white talking heads try to put Allen/Burrow on Mahomes' level. Since when does 3 rings not put you in your own tier against QBs with no rings. Miss me with a ring...I need to see Lamar actually show up in multiple playoff games before I view him as anything more than a regular season warrior.

And 1 ring against 3 is still a DRASTIC gap. Let's see him win a tough playoff game first.

It’s a team sport 100 percent but we can also acknowledge how players perform individually. Lamar hasn’t played up to MVP or his regular season standards when it counts. I don’t feel holding him to that standard is unfair.

Playoffs is like a different game. Only good teams make it and coaches save their best strategies
