not at the scale I feel that kind of movie would need to be.Moonlight was well made and If Beale Street Could Talk was masterful. He’s a good director.

So who would you proposenot at the scale I feel that kind of movie would need to be.
not many black Directors I trust tbh. Have black people write it, of locals/descendants in a producer role but get this in the hands of the best director possible.
Obviously she’s much closer to the material than me as she’s Native American but I personally don’t feel like the depictions in the movie normalized violence towards Indians in any way. They did some irredeemable, absolutely repulsive things to the Osage and they never became easier to watch and accept as the film went on. If anything it got harder to watch especially with how they treated molly and the absolute lack of empathy they treated the Osage with. if anything was normalized it was Americans being greedy pieces of shyt.
She is just clout chasing......the movie clearly showed respect to them and alot of the speaking parts were designed in just that way

I don't think it's clout chasing. I think she's just the typical Gen z person where anything harrowing or brutal on screen is "trauma porn". Gen Z is why we don't get graphic violent or sex scenes in movies anymore because they're more sensitive.
It's not like Scorsese is unfamiliar with graphic violence. Man has killed white folks in his movies in all sorts of brutal ways.
