This is such a backwards way of thinking. So basically Kendrick should know his place right .....how dare he disrespect the sanctity of the Superbowl. In case you haven't been paying attention to what's happening in this country. This ain't the time for dancing. It's the time for truth and awareness. And there's no better place to do that then on the biggest stage in the world.

Saying this misses the entire point of what he was doing & that’s fine because admittedly, 90% of it flew over my head initially and I’m sure some feel the same as well. I feel we get caught up in being right in our perspective and then hunkering down and dying on that hill without the ability to just take in a different POV.

It’s okay to say “you know what, that was different, I wanted something else but let me sit with it.”

This was Kendrick’s vision & it was more of a wake up call for us as black people to stop being content with just being entertained especially in the times we’re in right now. It was subtle yet overt at the same time, very masterful.

I swear yall dikkride this man more this wife. Yall really want this cat to be deep thought provoking, 3rd eye opening talent. Anytime any disapproves or says they don't like something Kendrick, your "blackness" gets called into question, sh*t is annoying as f*ck.

It was a lackluster show, imo. Point blank period.

Kendrick basically did a thinkpiece at the Super Bowl, which is the most kendrick thing he could have done. Yet people wanted his hits... i feel this will be a slow burn but will go down really well with hip hop fans, and the culture. He did what he wanted to, not what people wanted him to do. Which opens the doors to superbowl halftime show actually being more artistic. Yes these are artists not just entertainers. i totally get people not feeling this thought, whether you're a fan or not.
