I’m rewatching it honestly, outside of his microphone being trash, the breath control when he was performing Euphoria & maybe switching out the the GNX snippet as the intro for something else, it’s really good. I personally would’ve switched it out for Family Ties, let Baby Keem rap his verse then Segway into Squabble Up.

Everything got better as it went on and again, the set pieces really fire.

Him rapping under the street lights with the beat boxing was HARD.

The All the Stars set piece with everyone moving around, fire.

Nah, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like the Wayne disrespect I be seeing online. Compared to Kanye, Kendrick, and Travis (as a matter of fact even Drake). Wayne is hit or miss (online folk act like it’s all misses). Wayne has the catalog. But how he performs it, how his voice sounds that day will nowadays be a toss up.

EDIT: And by nah I mean that’s not 100% a sure thing he’d be better. More likely it wouldn’t be. But hey maybe the nostalgia could give him the edge idk.
Not even trollin Wayne would have been better

One thing I wish for any future rap performances. Is for it to be uncensored. Because even Kendrick (someone who isn’t that vulgar of an artist). Had to censor, switch words etc quite a few times. I suppose it helps a bit sometimes as a performer though. If you get gassed quick. Those curse lines is the time to get a quick breather in.

I thought the first half felt a little low energy and underwhelming live....and then I heard the YouTube version.

I'm happy now. Poor audio shouldn't be a fukking thing for something like that, because who besides fans of the guy, or hip hop heads are gonna go watch it twice?

I think the throughline of Uncle Sam asking him to conform and perform the melodies and safe shyt America likes, and thus compromise himself and his artistic integrity, and him ultimately resisting was dope.

I'll also say that his Mr. Morale concert on Amazon is one of the best hip hop performances i've seen in a long time. And what I saw THERE had my expectations through the roof. This was not that, but i'm very pleased.

I'd also be fine if he NEVER performs NLU again. I'm very cool with that in the rear view.

I give it a 6.5-7/10 overall. The track list was eh, and the censorship took away from a lot. Maybe I’m crazy but I didn’t hear any mic issues?

Visuals were a 9/10 for me. Rap is always going to be hard to do at the Super Bowl if you don’t have a clean version of a song. Tupac was the king of the radio and album version, rappers need to take note

This beef has BEEN over. They should let it die.
Enough has been done. Kendrick brining out Drake's ex? Crazy move. It needs to stop. War in hip hop is cool for a bit, for growth. But too much is destructive.

Bless.

So I take it next year will be no more hip hop after this :lupe:

Might have to go back to rock.
Doesn't Jay Z have a role in choosing the SB halftime act?

The only well known Black artists left that haven't done it already is..... Kanye, Drake, Chris Brown?

Can't use Kanye cause you can't trust him to stay professional

Chris Brown? CACS would be  over this one lol

Drake? Are Drake and Jay Z even on good terms? Stans in both sides of that one was trying to push this narrative that they have beef without any concrete evidence...?

Lizzo might be able to do it, I know the Coli hates her because she's overweight but the woman is legit talented. She was being considering before she got sued by her backup dancers. Lizzo dropped as contender for 2024 Super Bowl Halftime performer amid scandal - IMDb

Nikki Minaj maybe?

Rock is dead, I don't think there's any Rock bands poppin' on the mainstream level like it was years ago. If they do go the Rock route it has to be an legacy act.
