the bulk of the economy is tourism breh, you need to get out more
Ive been out. In fact one of the concerns is that the refinery is relied on more than tourism as the bulk of the economy.

Because of that many tourism opportunities have been missed.

You didnt even know about the refinery of Hovensa and how its been the bulk of the economy for years.

You need to educate youself about the refinery and its effect on the economy of the US Virgin Islands.

yeah, so in other words the biggest part of the economy, tourism, is controlled by white people
:snoop: yeah a lot of hotels are owned by nonblacks
yet staffed by blacks and basically paid minimum wage

It's like yeah a lot of blacks support black owned businesses, but the islands bring in most of their revenue from tourism...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hovensa

The refinery is a joint venture between Hess Corporation and Petroleos de Venezuela

The Hess Corporation (formerly Amerada Hess) is a large American-based integrated oil company headquartered in New York City, and a Fortune 100 corporation. The company explores, produces, transports, and refines crude oil and natural gas.

Hovensa is not owned by black people breh, by your own words and logic the st croix economy is controlled by an american multinational corporation

read books breh, they're good for you

Different people have different experiences. Maybe she hasn't gotten racist overtures in her life. Some people don't get them or else don't get enough to worry them. Not all so-called "blacks" in the US have the similar experiences regarding racism, unemployment, discrimination, etc. It could be that Superhead doesn't feel she suffers for being who she is, which is a fair enough assumption if she just hasn't experienced it.

like i'd even entertain a discussion, much less an argument, on the history of slavery and her ancestry with a chick called superhead. :heh: the conversations of her past with her son must be cringe worthy to say the least...

son: *googles mom* hundreds of dikks tho ma??? :damn: .... you kissed me with that mouth :to:
superhead: ...but son, all those dikks were for you. so you could have a better life... :troll:

son: ...:scusthov:....:sadbron:

son... :wow:

I'm legit losing it over here :heh:

I see so where is the discrimination that you claimed to exist?

Also nice move mentioning white people controlling the refinery and such yet blacks still use the money from the refinery jobs to fund their own businesses.

breh, just stop it, its embarrassing now, please just take a seat

Whats embarrassing is how you try to downplay black businesses and black influence all over the island. :scusthov:

whats embarrassing is you trying to equate mom and pop shops owned by blacks with multinational corporations that dominate the st thomas economy

apparently you dont really understand your own island, its like this

black people run the VI in terms of politics but in terms of economics black people are marginalized,

i feel like i just told a kid santa claus doesn't exist, you really need to study the economics and understand whats going on

whites control the tourism and banking, arabs control the gold shops and retail,

that's the basic situation, you obviously have your head in the sands

whites control the tourism and banking, arabs control the gold shops and retail, and you are being invaded by dominicans, (half of them illegal taking low skilled jobs from blacks, the other half prostitutes :ahh:, but i digress)

that's the basic situation, you obviously have your head in the sands, i noticed all the stuff just from being there a few days and talking to people
White companies come here and raise employment for many blacks who many of them use the money many times to start their own black business or at lesst keep themselves afloat by owning a franchise and selling it.

Black businesses are still black businesses with money going to the pockets of black men so I still dont see why you try your best to downplay that. Blacks own retail stores, shops and even a franchise or two. Blacks are still there among arabs as business owners so I dont know why you talking as if weve fallen behind.

Dont even mention dominicans. They havent got any ground there in the VI past prostitution and owning bars so I dont know who fooled you into thinking otherwise lol.

Everything here is entwined with blacks in one way or another.

breh you are delusional, the st thomas economy is controlled by whites through their control of banking and tourism (and hovensa), thats just a fact, if you add the arabs and hispanics its just a fact that economically black people are marginalized and control only a small part of the economy and they control the politics (which admittedly is a trump card for blacks), and i saw (well more like heard) dominicans all over the place when i was there

and mom and pop shops are not comparable to multinational corporations, just stop it, your economic ignorance is just embarrassing
