lol, i looked it up in wikipedia and it says she's from st thomas, ive been there, its an american territory, its probably the most americanized caribbean island, and it has the same racial issues as in america combined with the racial issues of the caribbean, on top of that all the black people on the island descended from slaves

so im not sure what on earth she is talking about, the notion that a black person in the caribbean has no slave ancestor is just

ive never even heard of that, ive just read a book about the caribbean history a few months and it said nothing about wealthy blacks, blacks did get power and some wealth but it was only after independence when they got control of the politics of the different islands

Nothing but love for Caribbean peeps but it bugged me out when I learned most of the resorts and beach front property was not Black owned..... I guess they can say the same about us here in America. Take a look at all the skyscrapers in Manhattan and try to find one black owned, here now in 2014.

regardless of having slaves in her family tree, she's incredibly condescending to people that DO have that in their history. she speaks as if it's their fault and now she put her young son in recording studios with rappers and execs, some of the worst people in the world in an industry with an incredibly thin chance of sustained success, if any at all.

St Thomas? I took a tour there a few years back, remember visiting an old slave port...I may even still have pictures on my "deleted" facebook profile.
