Star fleet is not and never was a military organization. They were always explorers and only militarized when they had to. But I will give the writers credit for keeping the morality of the federation intact.

And the enterprise is not a warship.

If they not a military organization where is the military at in that universe then. :leon:

Starfleet has military ranks such as captain, commodore, admiral, and the enterprise is arCarries security officers which also double as troops on landing parties.

In addition, the ship has participated in many military missions during the original series. They stole a Romanian cloaking device, was charged with defending colonies from klingons, disaster relief, ferrying diplomats etc.

and to top it off, Kirk faced a military court marital during the original series.

I liketrek to deal more with exploration and less start wars adventure but at the core it's a military organization

The man who created Star Trek has stated it was not a military organization. I take it from him.

Japan, but from the 989
The movie was quite good. I was actually surprised at how good it turned out to be. The villain was CRAZY. But I have one grip. He was sooooo smart but didn't think of the shyt Spock pulled on him? REALLY? You aren't that smart then. :ld:

I thought it was good.....but I had more fun with IM3

Honestly I wish this movie was split in to two parts...this part dealing with Marcus the 2nd Khan ....would have been more epic

O and future Spock is such a fukking cheat

Plot holes. There were a ton of them. A lot of lazy writing.

Still an enjoyable movie.

Watched today. Thought it was pretty dope. The villain was a G, very well acted. I was a fan of Kirk and Spock from the previous movie and the whole crew did their thing too.

I have 0 knowledge of Star Trek until I watched the previous movie when they rebooted the series, so I am a "casual" viewer I guess. Funny how when it comes to Marvel/DC movies I get hella irked when they fukk with the source material whereas in cases like this I'm :manny:

:ehh: Lazy writing and plot holes go hand in hand with most sci-fi movies besides the top 3%. Its like the difference between shoehorning some new future tech with a few lines of dialogue compared to actually inventing, the process is way easier to do and then you get to decide how the malfunction can lead to a new action beat. The original tv show contains obvious plots holes to create drama
