ill still bash Desai. dude is legit working on a case to be the worse DC in the NFL.

Cover 0 blitz, don't give up inside leverage...what does Ricks do :snoop:

On that 3rd down pass to Ferguson, I too wondered why Byard blitzed instead of Brown...Byard is more steady in coverage

Desai is horrible...we can never take away an opponent's best weapon...we give up every 3rd down imaginable...we can't cover the seams or middle of the field...Desai needs to be better expeditiously

There's nothing wrong with that philosophy

The issue is the Boyz and when healthy, the 9ers, have very good O-Lines

When y'all beat the Boyz a few weeks ago was because of your D-Line and Steele for Dallas being trash

So y'all are where y'all need to be until you have to face those and that excellent Lions O-Line but so are most teams
our line is not very good, Trent williams is the only thing holding the line down. hes elite. aside from that our center is average and the rest are not good. left guard is ok-ish but he also gets to play next to Trent and when he played rg he looked worse. right guard might be the worst guard in the league and right tackle is atrocious

sorry eagles brehs for talking about the niners on here...but I wanted to set the record straight. eagles line and even this years version of cowboys oline is way better than the niners oline. Trent might be the best player on the three of them tho lol..

its crazy because he legit had a elite defense in chicago & then went to Seattle with Pete. rn he is coach like he has never ran a defense. he has no feel for the game or what to call in the right moment's.

Ringo needs to show somebody something. Crazy how he went from a fer sure first rounder, to falling, to nobody caring that this prototype NFL corner can't get on the field

Nolan Smith too. Get on the field, do anything to make someone believe you're gonna have a career

Elite though? Only in two stats.

The 5-12 Panthers allowed the 2nd least yards that season and the 4th least pass yards. The Bears were ranked 6th in total yards and 3rd in pass yards. These teams were #1 and #2 in pass attempts faced. Their offenses were tied for #2 in turnovers lost (one turnover behind the Giants). Both run defenses were in the bottom half of the league. Both were one of 12 teams to allow 400+ points.

I say all that to say, context matters. Those defenses didn't have as much field to cover as other teams (they were last and 4th worst in opposing starting field position) and in the majority of metrics, they were either the worst or in the bottom half of the rankings.

For the Bears, all of this happened while they had some blue chip players in the front 7. Roquan being Roquan, Khalil Mack averaging a sack a game for the half season he played and our old pal Robert Quinn having a 18.5 sack season.

Believe it or not, outside of total yards allowed, our defense this season is comparable to the 2021 Bears defense. Yards per play, turnover ranking, points allowed ranking, You can take that as a good thing if you feel that 2021 defense was elite, or a bad thing if you delve deeper into the numbers and context.

I just checked the 2022 Seahawks out of curiosity.. they were a poor defense by most metrics too, except turnovers.

With Slay out, how the hell will we defend DK...anything other than shell def tomorrow is a risk :francis:

Slay couldn't cover him in 2020 with fresher legs. If you remember, that's when Slay said the man was talking cash shyt, getting personal and grunting at him.

:heh:

Mans dropped a 10 - 177 stat line on our heads. He might double those numbers Monday. Or maybe Slay not playing will help, with no nemesis he may not play like a man on a mission.

Nolan has been doing decent the few snaps he’s been getting lately. I think they need to give him more burn
