How do you know he didn't do that? At the end of the day the actor has to go along with the script and all of them signed on before the scripts for all 3 movies were out. Mark Hamill didn't like anything about Luke in the sequels but he filmed his parts. He told Rian Johnson and Abrams he didn't like it and they still didn't budge. And he's Star Wars Michael Jordan. Boyega had no pull in swaying the script as a BJ Armstrong
When did we hear about Mark Hamill's complaints compared to Boyega's? :jbhmm:

@Ziggiy get in here

:salute: John though , he’s been poppin off for a while now

I said the DAY the movie came out

Now we're in and they've captured Phasma, and Finn gets his Kevin Hart on and hams it up for a couple minutes, while the cool Han Solo has to tell him to dial it down. A dangerous mission in the enemies base me you've got time to clown? fukking ridiculous, but still this is Finn's moment righ? His chance to rescue Rey and set it right, after all she did save him from the Alien earlier on right?

Nope, the ever resourceful Rey with her new found Jedi Powers has already escaped. Girl Power style!

Finn and Rey watch Han die by Kylo's hand. A very good and touching sequence I might add.

They flee into the snow. Kylo pursues them

And now the moment of truth. Finn's LAST chance at a truly heroic moment. No more running, no more hiding. The girl you've been jonesing for is knocked out, Kylo just called you a filthy traitor.

Your eyes steel

You grasp the lightsaber with determined vigor

You prepare to take Kylo Ren head on. This is your "destiny awakens" moment.

You lose.

Not ONLY do you lose, but your put in a coma.

This ends your chapter in The Force Awakens...

Poe Dameronn gets to heroically destroy the Star Killer

Rey wakes up, grabs the lightsaber, and having learned she has the force all of 24 hours, proceeds to kick Ren's Ass like she's Xena the Warror Princess.

Hell even BB8 gets to complete his mission and show the way to Luke Skywalker.

You Finn are in a coma.

No heroic moment, no redemption, no future arc for your character.]

The Black Male "Lead" ladies and gentleman:snoop:

He gets not ONE truly heroic moment in the ENTIRE GODDAMN FILM

He's saved EVERY SINGLE TIME

Leia got saved less throughout the entire OG trilogy

The FIRST human character in Star Wars cinema to wield a lightsaber and not be force sensitive

A liar, Coward, wise-cracking side kick. He literally spends the rest of the film after Han shows up as Either a victim or Rey's courier.

Rey is to chosen one, the new Jedi. Poe is the hotshot pilot, the best in the Resistance.

Finn...is in a Coma...

It's extremely insulting to say, that after Han shows up, you could've replaced Finn with Jar Jar Binks and gotten the same damn results. Finn's character was NOT treated with respect or dignity. They stripped him of what it looked like they were trying to give him in the beginning, the ability to exist as his own character. He's there to tell jokes (and be the but of them) voice reluctance and fear, and get saved to show how badass the OTHER characters are.

And you can already miss me with the "bu bu but...he'll GROW in episode 8!". Luke, Han, and Leia could ALL grow in episode 5 without being completely demoralized in ANH. Luke got his hero moment, so did Han and Leia, all were PROVEN that he possess heroic qualities. Finn was never allowed to PROVE my heroic qualities. Everything he attempted was accomplished by someone else....

The movie itself was a 7/10. Finn was a 4/10 and I'm giving him the 4 based on the promise he showed in the beginning, and BOYEGA's clear talent as an actor. He REALLY did his best with what he was given, he deserved better.

Black Characters deserve better.

This pent up frustration must be from that last movie
They really had him go all out to get to Rey to save her from Kylo Ren...only for Rey to force shove him away and go back to fighting Kylo dolo.:skip:
They hint at Finn and Rey being an item....only for Rey choose on Kylo Ren (the VILLAIN) instead. They gave him a runner up prize...only for him to lose her to another breh in that same move too.
Well at least they gave Finn force powers right? Well hes only hinted at being force sensitive. He didn't even get the chance to say it in a 3+ hour movie. The first hint that he was force sensitive was the very first trailer of the trilogy when we thought he would be the main character of the force awakens. Now the trilogy is over and he still has nothing practical.

He really took all that harassment from the racist part of the SW fanbase for it to end like this :skip: I'd be mad too

nikkas should check back to the first TFA thread. Finn was welcomed like the second coming of Jesus as the first black jedi. The trailer made it seem we were finally getting a black Jedi only to be trolled in the movie

After seeing the first movie they crippled my nikka.
The second movie they straight up humiliated him and sidelined him the entire movie. The little kid at the end had more force powers then him
In the third one they just said fukk Finn.

fukk Kathleen Kennedy.
bytch could not even type well enough to take the minutes during the administration of star wars. Yet, narcissistically in administration and on paper.
trying to make it like she was the one who made star wars originally pop.
When she was a moron and all her properties after that.
say she never knew wtf she was doing.
Till now we see the real.
when she gets star wars with Disney.

fukk that bytch.

ol take credit for it after it blow, face ass bytch.

now trying to hide her hands from fukk'n it all up.

tired of no talents getting resume credit and really did not do a cot damn thing frfr.

I hate that bytch Kathleen Kennedy.

she ushered us into the dark ages. With no moral ground gateway property.

I wish she would die.

This.

I'm glad that John Boyega finally spoke up after all the nonsense he had to go through with those films.

To keep it 100, I honestly believed that Kathleen Kennedy, JJ Abrams, and Rian Johnson saw the success of Black Panther(Rest In Power, Chadwick) and figured "Damn. We didn't know how much an effect that a black hero could have in the box office. So we have to do something in order to have black people watch our films. Elsewise, if this phenomenon happens again and we miss out on it, even Disney, as out of touch as they are, will see through it." So instead of learning from Black Panther's success, Kathleen Kennedy decides to double down on making Rey the girl power superhero nobody asked for and Finn the stuttering, blubbering comic relief.

We warned folks a long time ago about how Finn was being done dirty, but nobody listened and I suggest Kathleen Kennedy update her resume, because she is a dead woman walking at Disney.

I tried so hard to give TFA the benefit of the doubt when it first dropped, but you're completely, 100% right. Disney/KK's handing of Finn as a character was pure trash. They set him up to be such a dope character, and they threw it all away. Props for keeping it 100 from Day 1 :wow:

This trilogy was garbage. I have a lot of issues with the prequels, but even with all their faults (and they have a LOT) those movies had SOME kind of plan and still gave us a dope black character, a dope setting, a dope cartoon, and dope concepts overall (The clone wars, Anakin's temptation and fall to the dark side).

George Lucas isn't the best writer, but his worldbuilding and vision are :wow:
The excessive CG, crappy dialogue, and questionable writing held the prequels back, but they still expanded on the lore and gave us something to look forward to.
The Disney movies never expanded on the lore or gave us anyone to really care about or connect with. All they did was tear the characters and universe down.

It's The Last Jedi's fault.
First movie was clearly setting some stuff up for him. TLJ dropped the baton and put him in a universally hated side plot. By the time the last movie came along there wasn't much you could do.

In retrospect, the reason I hated TLJ was because deep down I knew it was evidence that the trilogy wasn't planned out and the last movie was going to have to pull shyt out of its ass. The people who loved TLJ just loved it in isolation, but I couldn't stop thinking "How can the trilogy work now?"

The Last Jedi was a fundamentally selfish movie.
