Star Trek>>>>>>>>>Star Wars

Facts. I went to the Star Trek convention last year for the first time and was impressed how inclusive the space was--black, white, young, old, gay, straight--everybody was there to have fun and enjoy their favorite series. Almost as if Star Trek fans actually got the point of the franchise. :ohhh:

Unlike them racist ass Star Wars fans :pacspit:

When he got cast I thought he was gonna be a Jedi because he was fantastic in Attack the Block as the lead. Nope. Turned him into a bumbling coward for 2 movies and then didn't know what to do with him in the 3rd movie. If they weren't going the Jedi route the Stormtrooper uprising layup was right there and they aint do shyt with it. They really fukked up that trilogy.:stopitslime:

Wasn’t that original plan in the 2nd movie? I remember reading somewhere that Finn was going to admit to Rey that he could use the force, but it got scrapped.

Might have been the 3rd one. They were supposed to actually have him lead the ground war and actually do something with him being a ex-stormtrooper.

The second movie I think they pretty much just went with the first draft of what Rian Johnson wrote without changing much.

‘Star Wars’ Author Tells All About Removed Rey-Finn Romance and His ‘Last Jedi’ Retcon Story
Author Alan Dean Foster says it was obvious that Rey and Finn were supposed to have a romance in the sequel trilogy.
By Zack Sharf

One request that “bothered” Foster while writing “The Force Awakens” was to remove the romance he was setting up for Rey and Finn, played by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega in the film. The two characters are not romantically involved in “The Force Awakens” movie, but Foster said Abrams’ screenplay was “obviously the beginnings of a relationship” between Finn and Rey.

“I expected to see that developed further in [‘The Last Jedi’],” Foster said. “And zero happened with it. And we all know why zero happened with it — and there’s no need to go into it in-depth — but that’s, sadly, just the way things are.”

Foster was forced to remove any inclination of a romance between the characters in his “The Force Awakens” book

Kennedy wasn't with having a black co-lead and letting him have the force. They completely neutered Finn in the second movie and to add insult to injury added an unattractive Asian woman as his replacement love interest.

The Ren/Kylo relationship made no sense and was just weird.

Thats what I want to know. Did they have plans to have him be the main character? But after seeing the backlash decided to change the entire movie around?

I could be wrong and the movie was already completely done before the trailer dropped. But not only did the trailer imply he was the lead. But he seems to have gotten the idea he was the lead, and sounds blindsided by the fact he wasnt. How could he possibly be upset if he got a script that told him he was a peon in the film. Something about that script he got had him thinking he was really that guy:gucci:

I wouldnt be suprised if he was supposed to be the jedi, have that final lightsaber battle. But as soon as they saw the racist reactions of the trailer said "nope" and wrote in for the white girl to take the saber with the force:mjlol:.

The movies seem like a jumbled mess, like they had to remix and make this shyt up on the fly. Which adds credence to this conspiracy theory lol

Its crazy how you can draw parallels between this movie and the democrats and Republicans. Disney allowed backlash at that original trailer to convince them that black men werent the key. So they put their faith in a white woman instead, then in black woman.

Low and behold Star Wars as a franchise has been in shambles since this grave error. And now years later after its too late, you have people saying "They shouldve made the black man the Jedi, the chosen one:mjcry:"

Will the Democrats smarten up or suffer the same fate. Sometimes movies are made to provide valuable messages at the right time. I already told you about I Am Legend and Madagascar:respect:#TheKey

I’ll concede this :ehh:

When presented like this I can see the point. But I still stand by that Adam Driver had a way bigger proposed role in the lead up with comics and other things. We knew he was going to be connected to Luke and Han and Leia. We knew he turned. We knew Rey was the main character. Those were the knows. No one knew what to expect with Boyegas character. Just like we didn’t know what to expect from Snoke. There was a lot of conjecture, but ultimately he was a victim of the lack of direction the new trilogy had, nothing else.

Yes side characters, Disney acted like Finn would be the main character and at worst the co-lead and we saw the reaction to that

White people think any major character that's not white is WOKE :bryan:

They say that minority characters are fine as long as they're new characters and not race swapping existing characters.

Yet when they created an original storyline of a Black Stormtrooper realizing he was force sensitive and a possible Jedi, they came out in droves

Hollywood is done with the star centric model, they’ve moved the focus towards intellectual property being the star. Twilight was the beginning of the end. That’s why Hollywood was going so hard with the push for ai integration in the ideation process. No offense to breh but that dream is dead.

Now every flick has to get the multiverse treatment and 4th string characters get tie-in tv spinoffs :mjlol:
