That lack of diversity starts on college campuses

Silicon Valley companies that care about diversity go HAM trying to find Black candidates. I know a Black woman who works in the field. When she was job hunting, companies from all over the country literally gave her first class plane tickets and hotel rooms so she could visit them. They did everything they could to lure her.
Racism, classism and misogyny is well-documented in Silicon Valley

All she had to do was go to the promenint hbcu's like other companies do. Or go to the national black engineering organizations and technical conferences held throughout the year.Silicon Valley companies that care about diversity go HAM trying to find Black candidates. PRECISELY.if black people were experiencing rampant discrimination in silicon valley, that would be a step up forward for black people, the problem is there are no black candidates so there isnt any black people to discriminate against
STEM majors have an expiration date and it's sooner than you think. They are good majors to pursue but they aren't a longterm situation, depending on your age.
How can it have happened if it's a projection
Them nikkas in the factories back in 1950 thought they had jobs until they could hit retirement too
You don't really believe that do you? You are an idiot. There are a lot of Blacks in IT and in development. I still remember that CNN special when Blacks with great talent went to Silicon valley but nothing really happened as the companies were on their tip.Unless I missed it, I didn't see any statistics about the number of blacks or Latinos who have those skill sets. Perhaps there just aren't that many pursuing the discipline.
Very true. Not an alternative, rather a different allocation of skills. I don't care what Black people major in as long as they are savvy enough to create their own business out of it. A STEM major going to use their brainpower for Silicon Valley is doing themselves a disservice and to the Black community. Local economies and small business ownership is going to be the most effective ways to stave off advanced automation.

There is little evidence of racism against black people not because Silicon Valley isn't racist, it's simply because there are no black people in Silicon Valley to be racist against
