This isn’t an open/shut case. They would have to prove his lack of involvement led to specific decline in revenue. They can’t pin all of the financial losses on one person. And he has a counter suit for money owed to him. So it may end as a zero sum gain for both parties involved.

I agree with @I Really Mean It seeing that bottle with the name "Jay Z" on it really surprised. I can't say I've seen Jay throw his personal branding directly onto something like that in a while (maybe since the s. carter shoes?). It seems like for whatever reason Jay just didn't want to be involved with this anymore.

What realistic reason would Jay not have to read the contract or run it by his attorney?

Sounds like he tryna get the case thrown out or the amount lowered . The attorney saw where he was going which is why you got the “so you remember now” comment
