After drakes last album I realized how much the hoops that rappers have to go through for samples hurt the game. A key success to his albums is he has alot of samples. He samples stuff world wide and even brand new. It dawned on me that samples are a huge boon for rappers that most rappers can't even afford or have the connect to get cleared.

had the album on blast in the whip today in brooklyn and some dude in the passenger seat of the car across from me had to :salute: to that marcy me playing..

Yo, I need to be in Brooklyn hearing this in the streets. As a born Brooklynite I can only imagine the vibe there.

wow so Jay never wrote anything afro-centric before? I think as the times changed and everyone has become more mature and pro-blackness wasn't some outcasted clique of people but now a common way of thinking, it's makes sense that more of the albums are coming out in that vein.

to call him a trend hopper would be correct if a 50 year old started doing albums over trap beats...

this is the type of music jayz was suppose to do but he catered to his fans most of his career, wasn't willing to go full Nas/Jay Cole because he still had a toe in the Biggie/Pac mentality
