I usually donate it to goodwill or salvation army…or if it’s a really good TV then I’ll give it to a friend/family member if their TV(s) are outdated…in some cases they don’t have money to burn on an upgrade or they’re just older and don’t want to be bothered with researching what to get

The point of this thread is for you to learn and recognize how they are selling you the same products and slapping new names on it. After they make a game look great, they'll come up with a way to sell you the same thing again while charging you more. So they won't target the best looking graphics when a next gen console comes out. I'm talking from game design. What you see in OLED today is similar but lesser than what I had using a VGA on the dreamcast. Why is that true?

this is why i got a series s i don't have a 4k tv so there isn't much point in getting an X my 1080p 52 samsung with a high refresh rate fits in the room perfectly


don't have space for another tv and don't feel like selling just to upgrade


I also plan on getting a PS5 + disc drive at some point so the whole underpowered thing doesn't really concern me because the exclusives never get short changed Forza Horizon 5 looks and runs excellent

its only a few multiplats like Gotham Knights and Sniper Elite 5...

I played Flight Sim, Gears 5 and a couple other games on my OLED on a series S just to see the difference between that and my Series X
Only Flgith Sim could I see a difference and it was miminal (lines was slightly more rigged) otherwise it looked identical. And its sold as a device that works like that... it does

I know this. I’m glad CRT sets are gone. Motherfukk all of them heavy bytches. So what that my eye can’t see in 4K. Four brehs are no longer needed to carry my mom’s heavy as fukk Sony WEGA. Don’t get me on my experience working at The Wiz.

The first time my girl saw my TV she was mesmerized. She started watching all kinds of random shyt on Netflix just cause it was in 4K. Looked like a kid watching porn for the first time. There is definitely a difference.

Did she then see 720p vs 1080p? Just games? What about those preview videos they run on a loop at a store, them shyts looked AMAZING back then, 80in screen in 720p with no lines to be seen anywhere. Did she experience that? Does she realize that if you were to watch anything in 720p on an 80in screen today the image won't be as sharp? Its hard enough to find a man who knows this so yeah, cool story bro

I bought my mum a 50 inch 4K LED TV in 2017. My eyes took a week to adjust. At the time I had a 32 inch 1080 joint. I couldn't go back at that point. Bought myself a 43 inch 4k a month later.

Watching 4k blu ray on my Xbox One S.

I've mentioned this in other threads.

Point remains, 4K isn't the reason. To even see the differences you have to have high visual acuity which most people do not have.
And then you have to have the right size TV and be at the right distance from the screen for these effects to be seen by the human eye.

These distances are not ideal... at all, nobody does this. But somehow everyone has higher than high acuity vision and can tell.
I've literally proven they lying, and the fake outrage is more proof that the truth hurts
