A quick update on the job: The drive there sucks so fukn bad. Hurricane Irma messed up my training so last week was officially my first full week. I'm apart of an QA automation team, like 10 people now, who develop, analyze, and test environments. I haven't done any QA tasks though. I'm moreso doing the Product Specialist side of the job right now ensuring that people can access amenities(dining, spa, entertainment) when they book a cruise(s) online. It wasn't too difficult to pick up, they somewhat put me on my on. The only downside is you have to be very careful and precise. One mistake in the program that I'm working in can fuk up the revenue for the company since whatever I save is live globally.

Waiting on a job offer is draining. I was so elated last Wed to get one. Now I've been waiting a week to get the paperwork to me this week. I got a verbal offer last week. I guess I'm waiting on one decision maker to sign off on it according to the recruiter.

What worries me is that the job listing is still up and I saw it reposted on LinkedIn. Maybe it's for multiple positions? I don't know. Knowing that I got the verbal offer should ease me some since I had several arduous interviews to get to that point.

That part does seem to take forever but that’s usually HR dragging their feet. Since you’ve already received a verbal then I’m sure you’re gucci! Is this role similar to your previous one?

I will deploying Cloud in this role instead of monitoring and maintaining. It's a PITA just waiting lol.

Been lurking the thread off and on for a year since I got my tech support Job last year
What I do on a daily basis:
· Assist customers in technical problems that are tied to the internet, phone, and TV.

· Knowledge in connection types Cable, DSL , and Fiber

· Antivirus/Antispam programs

· E-Mail(POP 3/IMAP, deleting and setting up new emails on various devices)

Assisting and setting up customer accounts for internet service at assisted living properties

The pay does suck(8.50$ an hour I feel I should be getting paid more the tasks I am doing) but i am learning every day and planning to get my A+ hopefully next month but my question is how can I build off the skills mentioned above????

Depends on where you want to go and do. But I feel you can definitely get a way higher wage just putting out resumes and listing this experience.

Man you already got a IT job which is the hardest part. Skip the A+ and go for a cert that is related to the field of IT you actually enjoy. I would of traded you for your job experience instead of spending the past 6 months studying for the A+ and CCNA just to get into the field.
I been thinking of stacking the A+ cert, CCENT cert, & a MTA IT Infrastructure cert to stand out from other folks with just a A+ trying to break into IT.

Anybody got experience with getting an MTA cert? How was it?
