Factor in the fact that you usually deal with your own people, you don't deal with outsiders usually in your youth, if you're black, your circle is mostly black. You tend to race mixwith age breh, broke dudes hustling through school and trying to get right don't even deal with other races of women no where near the level of dealing with black women

So when you make it and your option start expanding you can easily be taken away by others.

Its not about a higher salary making a woman "more attractive" to men but about women wanting men who are at a similar level (or better) financially.

This is standard in almost every culture on earth. Why is it so outrageous for a woman to want a man who is her SES equal or superior?

Its about making a higher salary because like you said a few post down you "deserve" equal or more. Thats why I said some women try to circumvent the system like dudes (thinking money makes them more attractive when they only want to use it so they can "deserve" someone who makes more) Men esp with means have a way wider net than the avg chick in the same situation because they will date down and that's just real.

Exactly its not a plus its the equivalent of us using money to holla at a chick then say she gotta pay her own way. Ole bait and switch stuff. What added benefit does her money bring her if she want to act stingy with it similar to a chick with less. Then it goes back to looks and personality.

You've gotta realize, if you're a black woman in a white collar job, and you're not willing to date out or a man making less than you, your options are very narrow. It's already a small percentage of men up there. On top of that you're going to have to deal with

1. Women that are younger than you. It's already known that men generally view women in their lower 20's as the physical ideal.
2. Women of other races. If there's a good black man making a decent amount of bank, you best believe there's women from other races plotting as well.
3. Women that are more attractive. This is self explanatory.
4. Women who make less than you. Men do not require their women to bring in as much, so they're willing to date across a wider spectrum.

All of these combine to make reasons to tell black women to be realistic out here. You don't want a short guy? You want your man to make as much as you? You consider yourself traditional and won't approach a man? Well then be prepared to watch a lot of men go by. It's just the numbers of the situation. Something has got to give eventually.

Yeah this is true for women and men but I agree 10000% people not being real with themselves out here then complaining when they can't do what they already knew was improbable in the first place.

The real elephant in the room is the income levels between white men and white women, literally white women make about 55% of what white men make so white women usually marry into a system of patriarchy off the bat while black men usually are on equal status with their women, as you know since most of us make under 50k a year, if a sister makes 35k with two kids what's the point of her dating a man who makes 35k?

However you'll see a lot of gorgeous dime level white women with boring average looking white boys.......now those white boys will have good jobs, college education, etc.......but the point is they're not out here thinking they deserve Leonardo Dicaprio or Ryan Gossling. The culture is different, I guess. Who exactly are you talking about models and actresses or everyday women?
When you see a dime white chick with an average looking white dude you better believe he is paid or has good dikk because relationships are about what people are bring in to the table. The women is brining her looks and what would the man be bringing.... a kind heart

As for your second point most black men are not ready pre 30 to get married and start a family so this leaves black women who want to marry young at a disadvantage unless they start to look for other racial options.

"Educated" guys are still guys, and if "Keisha" is bad enough she'll get just as many looks as "Natasha".
