I put it to you like THIS...
Eddie Murphy has lower level performing comedic performances that are better than Kevin Harts best comedic performances in a movie...

So lets put it head to head...

Eddie Murphy in Norbit and his small Role in Tower Heist is EQUAL to the funny that Kevin Hart has shown in Ride Along 1 and 2
Kevin is the go to Box Office comedian at the moment .. Kevin's box office numbers don't lie

"
Ride Along 2," the Universal sequel starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, opened at No. 1 for the weekend with an estimated $34 million box office

.
Since Kev Became That Dude... Mind U, KEv is doing this during an era where movies are flopping left and right.

Think Like A Man: $96.1 million
Let Me Explain: $32,318,051
Ride Along: 154.5 million
About Last Night: $49 million
Think Like A Man Too: $70.2 million
Wedding RInger: $79.8 million
Get Hard: 111.7 million
Get Hard Was TRASH
Ride Along 1 AND 2 ARE TRASH

The movies are making grossing a lot but Vanilla Ice And MC Hammer grossed a lot too at one point and nobody is listening to the shyt now and it doesn't get radio spins, Kevin Hart has nothing on Eddie Murphy...

He's not sniffing Eddie's success when it comes to box-office.

Not even close to Eddie.

This is not how you frame a question. The question was "Is Kevin Hart as big a star as Eddie Murphy in the 80s?" The answer is no, hell no.

Now a better way to frame it would be "Is Kevin Hart the Eddie Murphy of this era?" The second question concerns fame relative to era; the first question is a direct comparison. Now with that said, the answer to the second question is still a resounding HELL NO!

Kevin Hart isn't an A-list star as far as I know. He's never even carried a box-office blockbuster as the top star. When adjusted for inflation, Eddie has 25 films that surpassed $100 million domestically, including 7 that surpassed $200 million domestically when excluding the animated voice-over films, and that's not even factoring in worldwide figures.

Kevin Hart is no match for Eddie when comparing this era or any other era.
Eddie's Shrek movies made over a billion worldwide :mjlol: and that's from 3 movies. Eddie's Beverly Hills Cop movies made about a little over a billion worldwide and that's just another 3.

This thread is so disrespectful :snoop:

I think it would be more fair to compare Kevin Hart to Chris Rock, tbh

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Listen to this song (written by the one n only Stevie Dub btw)...

... and tell me Eddie wasn't the biggest thing in the 80's (sans the Countach, nike air michael jordan 3-4 and the commercialization of the modern kitchen microwave).
