The list of movies shows that Eddie is bigger. What awards has Kevin been nominated for ? He JUST started getting lead roles in movies. How many of his movies was he putting work in on the producer, directing and writing side? Also those movies were huge.

On top of that Eddie dropped music and pretty much was the savior of Saturday Night Live in the 80s.

Kevin Hart is a big comedian who until lately was just playing the supporting role in movies as the comedic relief.

I knew this shyt was gonna happen. This is similar to when nikkas compare Jordan to Lebron. We already know one is untouchable when it comes to content, accomplishments and legacy.

But when you're asking if one is as big as another, you have to factor in the relative fame in their era. And no matter how weak his contemporaries are, Kevin is the top dog, has white america in his pocket, now a worldwide name and is a instant box office smash machine. And I don't even like the nikka, but it's the truth. If you want to prove most of yall point, the question is if Kevin Hart is BETTER than Eddie Murphy.

theirs a difference between being the go to comedian and the go to ACTOR. Eddie Murphy was one of the biggest ACTORS who just happened to be a comedian. Kevin Hart is just the biggest comedian in the game right now.

Nah. This is the age of cable, Netflix and 5 new movie releases every week from major studios. Hart is big but he can be ignored. Eddie was on the most popular show on TV and was the central star. SNL got far bigger ratings than anything on today. Then each movie he was in was an event and again,there weren't near as many options as there are today

Not even close, real talk. People were quoting Murphy's lines from SNL and his first 2 comedy albums for YEARS - even past the 90's. All those buckwheat and gumby skits were like water cooler talk the next day. I'm sure kufti sales spiked after Golden Child as well, Kevin Hart might be close in box office $$$, but social impact, not even close, real talk.

He's not sniffing Eddie's success when it comes to box-office.

This is not how you frame a question. The question was "Is Kevin Hart as big a star as Eddie Murphy in the 80s?" The answer is no, hell no.

Now a better way to frame it would be "Is Kevin Hart the Eddie Murphy of this era?" The second question concerns fame relative to era; the first question is a direct comparison. Now with that said, the answer to the second question is still a resounding HELL NO!

Kevin Hart isn't an A-list star as far as I know. He's never even carried a box-office blockbuster as the top star. When adjusted for inflation, Eddie has 25 films that surpassed $100 million domestically, including 7 that surpassed $200 million domestically when excluding the animated voice-over films, and that's not even factoring in worldwide figures.
