:mjcry:Yeah the shyt stings seriously. Like you have artists like Moonchild and friggin Hiatus Kaiyote reviving the neo soul movement, while our singers still singing the same club tunes.

Priorities are seriously fukked up :ld:
I don't think it's priorities. Labels seem to be engineering things that way.

IK R&B has turned into nikkas half singing over rap beats (blame Kellz) but tf is "ghetto shyt":gucci:
What r&b artists who have debut in the last 5-7 years do you fukk with so I can tell you.

If you havnt noticed the shift you clearly don't listen. A for effort on the posturing though

Probably not bumping much new r&b out in the burbs.

I mean we can start here with your generation.

And the end of mine

Sad cuz she could actually sing

This talented dude is Puerto Rican & Filipino and some of y'all still wanna call him a CAC:russ:

There are white Puerto Ricans. And some Filipinos are dark as African Americans but that doesn't make them black.

Indians and Arabs aren't CACs but they can still appropriate black culture..... Just like the kardashians for example

Nah, Bruno gives props to MJ, Prince, James Brown, and he even gave props to Quik and Suga Free for helping him on the new album and he employs an all black band, not to mention the guy grew up performing MJ and doo wop/motown soul songs in Hawaii. He was even signed to Motown before. The guy is doing everything right and he performs his ass off.

Get at Bieber and the Kardashians for appropriating black culture not the guy actually doing good work.

If you want to limit it to Funk and Soul, go ahead, but Paak is not nearly as talented as Bruno.

Bruno simply knows how to make good music from a production, arranging and writing standpoint...and has one of the best voices in the game. His latest album has a funk theme...ok great.

Bruno isn't appropriating anything. He is an actual 100% creator within the art, who has a sense for the history of it. Save that jazz for the Timberlakes and Biebers of the industry, who are fed everything and set up by only top-level producers and mega label backing.

This conversation is stupid really.
