Emboldens democratic states to push their own equally authoritarian mandates since the president technically, has their back in this extortion scheme.

I think if they would just say.
"These mandates will be in effect until the pandemic is over"

It would be recieved a little better but it almost seems like it's a new order of existing in America and coming off as Commie-ish

To avoid soaring costs, some restaurants are closing earlier or shutting their dining rooms. Robin LaForge decided to shut his restaurant, Cheniere Shack in West Monroe, Louisiana, for two days a week and close it an hour earlier on the days it is open after staffing fell by roughly three-quarters. Mirna McCormack, who owns Korner Cafe in Lewisville, Texas, is closing it around six hours earlier most days.

Some restaurants are also charging customers more. Devor, for example, has put prices up every month since May because of growing labor and ingredients costs.

He said he wanted to raise prices even further, but was worried that it would deter customers. McCormack similarly said she thought her cafe's retired clientele would be put off by price hikes.

Because of the labor shortage, restaurant owners have also been spending more time cooking or serving customers themselves.

McCormack said she had started working 12-hour shifts most days before ultimately slashing the cafe's opening hours. LaForge, meanwhile, said he was now spending more time doing prep work in the kitchen and had to restructure his menu because he didn't have as much time to think up specials. He added that his wife, who's undergoing cancer treatment, was having to help out.

Some restaurants have ultimately crumbled under the pressures of the tight labor market.

Taco Crush in McKinney, Texas, closed down in September after being left with just three kitchen workers. Owner Paul Horton told Insider that larger companies had poached some of his staff with offers of much higher wages or benefits.

We can’t do anything about it:yeshrug: I’ve talked to people who would rather have this happen than totally lose the place. It is what it is.

The hilarious part about it is that the red states insisted the worker shortage was because of the enhanced unemployment and thought that canning it would solve the problem :lolbron:

And people are out here starting businesses which is great. You need people working so they can support you. We don’t talk about that though lol

People have found other avenues of making money though because of the free time due to pandemic to pursue their passions. It's not like you'd get your full hours the majority of the time in the service industry anyways, so the side hustle you do would bring in the same pay with less hassle.

mandates are an inevitable part of public health policy, if you don't believe me look at the rest of the first world.

the problem with saying "These mandates will be in effect until the pandemic is over" is that a portion of this country believes the pandemic is already over.

That's the fault of leadership for not giving Information of what over is.

No numbers no percentages.
Just close everything down do this do that or we fine you, killing small businesses.
The administration hasn't shown what the light at the end of the tunnel looks like and states are in turn creating their own rules when mixed with the federal mandate are turning some states, like California, into a clown show with no end in sight, which is pissing off the common man.

People love saying that restaurant jobs should be for teenagers anyways. Well now you’re getting your wish :yeshrug:
This hasn't been a reality for along time, but I'm aware of the "ideal"/original design. Fast food, service industry, etc. I don't recall if it was the case as early as the Recession (2008) so dating myself but it hasn't matched our reality for a while (entry levels for masters-holding grads, average Starbucks worker) and wages have been depressed/stagnant regardless.

Regardless of what "temporarily embarrassed millionaires" say/opine, they don't suffer from other people being able to work and sustain themselves on a 40-hour workweek.

@Godless Liberal CEO
Is that a one size fits all story for business in the entire nation?

Sit down.

Maybe ur sniffing glue and not eating paste

I just wish you'd do like 1 second of research before plastering your right-wing talking points in this thread if you want serious engagement. It's ok to read and not post sometimes

can you cite a source for your claims? this so called "labor shortage" has been reported on months before any vaccine passports were required in some cities.

As much time as you spend dry humping and Smelling other nikkas breaths up close during your free time, you should be rooting for vaccinations.

Sorry pal. Biden fukked up with the mandate.

Thankfully Biden flip flops on issues so it shouldn't be a big deal for him to change his mind and realize this was a terrible idea.

Vaxxer Extremists are the cowardly type that dont go out enough to hold up the economy so even with mandates, businesses will still be empty.

The commie shyt gotta go.
Do the world a favor and go play in traffic.
