In my opinion, any president in office during slavery and/or owned slaves was worse than Trump. One could argue that Trump is the worst president since Lincoln. My opinion is heavily influenced by the treatment of my ancestors though. Even if we’re taking in general and disregard slavery, I wouldn’t consider him the worst in this country’s history. If he could, I’m sure that Trump would own slaves, so there’s that.
I recently learned that Woodrow Wilson actually played the well known white supremacist film known as “The Birth of a Nation” at the White House. After, he told people that the movie was an accurate depiction of America’s history. I’d say that 90% of presidents were/are racist and anti-Black White supremacists.
This. Even regarding things said, other presidents like Lyndon B. Johnson are on record saying flagrant and offensive things. Imagine if we were able to witness or record what the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century presidents were saying (especially about Black People). I’m sure that it wouldn’t be pretty.
