Deeper you go with the Kangs the more of a gamble it is. What if they go 2 more then he becomes so toxic you gotta cut ties? We're still at the onset and they can hypothetically change course. Who knows at this point. MCU is in trouble either way

Furthermore, the advantage with kang’s character is that there are multiple versions of the dude; many with different faces. His lore means they could legitimately switch him out periodically like they do for Dr.Who’s and there would still be continuity

Trevante Rhodes would take the role in a heartbeat. They usually have like 3-4 choices for every role so they'd likely just call someone who they didn't choose first. Do a quick zoom call, script reading or fly them out and nothing would be missed. Just refilm scenes.

I like Majors but Norton and Howard got replaced and no beat was skipped. Maybe you liked the other actors but Disney keeps it moving (good or bad).

There's Aldis Hodge, Trevante, dude from Snowfall. John Boyega. Heck even dude from Top Boy (Jamie).

It wouldn't fix their larger issues but recasting a role like that is like filling a cup of water to them.

This is the same studio that brings back dead actors in Star Wars via CGI. Majors ain't shyt to them

Yeah at this point they definitely already have a list of actors to replace him. And Aldis is actually doing the Alex Cross show so he's probably busy. Trevante though isn't doing much so he could do it.

Y'Lan Noel, who should be T'Challa if they ever decide to recast, could do it but given that Kang is being treated as a throwaway character by Marvel let someone else have it.

And Boyega is probably on the "can play Kang" list as well. As is Ray Fisher and a few others.

Marvel is learning this the hard way.

You can’t keep a film franchise going for 15+ years with no final destination in sight where the whole thing is about the next tease or the next piece of info that on the next crossover without having it eventually suffer in quality.

Part of the joy of the infinity stones saga was what it built up to. After that payoff obviously you’re stuck in a hard place trying to top it.

Once you hit it out of the park like that whatever you do afterwards is likely to disappoint many.

I think we all know the MCU will continue to exist until it’s ran into the ground. It will exist well beyond that as Disney struggles to recapture that feeling. It’s like Star Wars movies. They’ll never stop making it even when it’s no longer what it once was. The IP value demands it exist.

Or like you said, they already did that with the Infinity Stones saga.

Every movie after that is for the new saga that will have its own conclusion and then something new after that.

We have about 40+ years of one off stand alone CBM. I feel like overall we done with that…. It’s about big world building when it comes to atleast this genre

If they turn him white he'll magically be more competent and dominant and certainly won't be easily defeated by a bunch of ants


But it's doubtful that they'll do it though since they'll get a lot of backlash for it. For them it would be better just to do a lateral move and find a good Black actor to replace him with.
