I'm confused, why does nobody care about the citywide death and destruction in Godzilla or Xmen?

oh so he's LEADING zod huh? This dude is trying to DESTROY THE EARTH i'm sorry but there are more important things at stake than Tom's Drug store :camby:

He's at a farm with miles of unpopulated fields around him, and he smacks him into the gas station of a populated town destined to become a war zone. For any superhero that would be ridiculous, but for the original superhero? It's flat-out disgusting. There's always gonna be collateral damage in superhero fights, but that doesn't mean the hero shouldn't be trying to avoid said damage, especially when that hero is Superman, the OG protector of mankind at expense of his own well-being and even life if necessary. Not that you would understand with all that hatred in your heart.

By that logic he could have kept the fight at home. What makes his mom so special she has to be protected but the other people of Smallville are accepteable colatteral damage? Also as pointed out he didn't even do a good job protecting her sicne he lrft her with 3 goons that could have killed or kidnapped her while he was off fighting Zod.

The damage in the movie didn't bother me that much I just thought it kinda sucked but your justfication here is weak.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Yall nikkas... :laff:

Naw yall lack vision, what ya wanna do is start ya own construction company ASAP....you'd be billionaire status in no time. :win:

I'd be out there personally cold calling up supervillians like, "Sooo i know you're busy hatching up plans for world conquest and or the demise of your archenemy, but if i could get a moment of your time to persuade you to consider NYC as THE place where you wanna have these plans go down. It's plenty of vehicles and various heavy inanimate objects to throw, plenty of human lives to endanger or take hostage and of course plenty of buildings to punish your arch nemesis into. We would prefer if you started with Manhattan as it is the most densely populated borough of the NYC, but of course anywhere in NYC will suffice. Thank you for your time, good luck with your plans and if you're ever in need of a construction company, we here at Breh and Associates Construction, LLC are always here to do your bidding." :smugdraper:

:patrice: This actually got me thinking last night about if there were any comic book characters who profit off of that sort of stuff and would maybe even resort to a supervillain causing it's destruction. I know LexCorp, Oscorp, Roxxon, Hammer Inc, etc. are all out there, and you know someone has to profit off of that reconstruction. Someone's out there looking like :shaq: as Loki does battle with The Avengers or Superman and Zod knock each other through buildings and thinking "I'm gonna make a profit off of this. :sas1::sas2:"

So basically you are saying that you expect a certain level of realism out of Man of Steel but are fine dismissing the idea that any civilian died during multiple firefights on crowded streets and highways or when an army of aliens attack New York City during a work day?
The amount of intellectual dishonesty in the criticism is bullshyt and I just watched Avengers...Stark, Thor and Hulk did zero to save civilians, they were fighting aliens and Loki period.
What the fukk does "kept in a general area" even mean? There was no warning the aliens were coming. There were offices full of people that those giant serpent ships were crashing into and the streets were full of mid day traffic. Yet no one died because a waitress was shown giving an interview about how Captain America saved her? I bet Hawkeye killed at least 20 civilians himself when he was firing indiscriminately at the aliens in that plane he Cap and Black Widow stole from SHIELD.
You putting words in my mouth, i never said civilians didnt die in Avengers. Im saying the "heroes" in Avengers too civilian causalities into account when making their decisions. Clark didnt give a fukk. The rest of what you wrote is complete bullshyt :russ: Hawkeye was taking out multiple aliens without looking, how was he randomly shooting at civilians? Watch these 30 seconds please

Man of Steel didnt give a fukk, Avengers did. :umad:er It didnt even care enough to come up with a good reason why Pa Kent couldnt be saved but Lois can fall away from a black hole :troll:

never ever have heroes been held to that standard but for Man of steel...he's gotta look out for civilian casualties when trying to save the fukkin planet. Nobody has EVER complained about this fake faux outrage until that movie.

Nobody's had to complain as nobody was dumb enough to write a superhero that way prior to this movie.

Superman has always been held to a higher standard than everyone else because he's fukking Superman. In season 2 of JLU Lois made the statement to Clark that she had been hard on Superman because he set a higher standard than everyone else. That's the nature of Superman he is not supposed to be doing the same things as other heroes because he's supposed to be better than them, so the excuse that it happened in another movie so it should be okay in a Superman movie doesn't work.

I agree with that but I'd argue that for this particular iteration of the character, he isn't that guy yet; he has to learn to be that guy as opposed to just coming out fully formed. Even the superman we know him to be in the comics now wasn't fully formed that way but he became that way over time and growth

Godzilla is a monster that rampages through cities. If you don't understand how that's different from the O.G. superhero, iconic for protecting every life he can, then yeah... end of story.

I've recently learned that edgizzle is an idiot who says shyt to ignite discussion on this board.
