Illegals and muslims can't be central to the Democrats anymore. Voters are just stupid. Admit it.

IMO it's good that Hillary lost, black people dodged a demographic bullet that would have reduced black political power in the long term

See, that's all you had to say. Stop feigning concern for black people when in reality you're apparently just a right winger. Be proud and stand up for what you believe.

You think Hillary winning would have reduced black political power? People like you are the ones reducing black political power by placing the blame for Hillary's loss on black voters.

You think you're engaging in 3D chess/political strategy when you're cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Honestly I think Trump's rise is more because of Obama than Muslims or Immigrants, after all it's not like they weren't around before then.

Not so much anything in particular he did, but the optics of having a black president really offended a lot of white folks (even Colin Powell and some other Republicans have admitted this) and mobilised the far right and they've been on overdrive on the Internet recruiting people since then (read any Youtube or Yahoo comment section post-Obama).
The black lives matter movements really ticked them off too.

I think the far right likes to throw all the minority groups in one basket.

They aren't related and don't have the same goals.

No, actually.

Hillary had as diverse of a campaign staff and potential cabinet as Obama did as well as goals to maintain Obama's level of diversity in government.

Jeremy Corbyn will lead the labour party to its biggest defeat.

Just google that phrase please. You'll see 50 Napoleons saying something as stupid as what he said. Ossoff was terrible too. Corbyn will be PM.

What are you talking about?

Your compatriot believes that it was a good thing that your girl lost because if she won, people would have made the argument that the immigrant vote was important to her victory and by extension that black voters influence would be weakened. How he came to that conclusion I have no clue, considering that Hillary wouldn't have even won the PRIMARY, let alone the general election without the black vote.

I think OP (who I had to block, so I can navigate this thread without crashing my computer) is touching on the right sentiment, but he's being a little obtuse.

The democratic party shouldn't abandon its ideals, but like I said earlier, they're due to reprioritize. Illegal immigration can't be the central issue because its something republican voters feel way more passionately about then democrats.

I mean when you mention the subject, a liberal is thinking "Ahhh yeah. Illegal immigration, I don't see why we shouldnt let more immigrants into this country. After all this country was built on immigrants:manny:"

Whereas the conservative is thinking ":damn::sadbron::scust::pacspit::pacspit::pacspit::pacspit: This is the end of 'Merica!! We need to take vigilant action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

You can't counter that kind of visceral reaction. Just focus on other things like economics.

They need to drop the trans thing completely. Focus less on LGBT rights unless Trump enacts some legislation.
Muslims will always be important in the national dialogue.
Especially because Trump is trying to deny them basic American rights.

And I have zero problem with that. People should always look out for their interests. That is your right.

All I'm saying is that when you make the statement that you're glad Hillary (as bad of a candidate as she is) lost to Trump, a man whose policies are driven by an allegiance to white nationalism, you need to stop fronting like you're looking out for black voter's interest as a whole.

Prime example:

He will have the opportunity to sign into law a policy that will decimate Medicaid in the coming years.

20% of all people enrolled in Medicaid nationwide are black.

Total medicaid enrollees = 74,000,000

Which means 14,800,000 black people get their health care from Medicaid.

With ALL of the problems I have with Hillary, if she were President there is a 0% chance that almost 15,000,000 black people - who you claim to care sooooo much about - would be in danger of losing some or all of their health care benefits.

Lack of adequate health insurance is directly related to an increased incidence of death due to lack of regular screening, preventative care and delaying or outright going without treatment. Not only that but people without insurance are more likely to get care from the ER, leading to sky high medical bills and an increased risk for bankruptcy. And we all know these issues, as well as killer medical issues such as diabetes etc, disproportionately affect black people.

You, the self professed white knight and defender of black voters, are happy with a President whose policies will directly correlate to more black people dying. And all in the name of lowering taxes (which is the real reason for the Obamacare repeal).

You, Mr. Pepe, forfeit any right to claim you're concerned with the welfare of black voters specifically or black people generally.

well the thing is i dont think black people should vote based on issues like health care, black people should vote based on calculations to increase black political power and i think a key to that is to separate from the democratic party and set ourselves up as a swing vote, which we are but nobody including black people see themselves as such, we need to correct that

it is correct im not concerned about the welfare of black people per se, that is why im not a progressive, im concerned about the level of economic and political power that black people have, once we get sufficient economic and political power then people can take of their own welfare however they see fit

That would require something tangible on the R side to swing to, please enlighten me on what you've seen in the Republican platform that could facilitate that in the last 30 or so years.
