nikkas in complete denial. It's a fact. Black women (usually these artists core fanbase) refuse to support dark skinned black women anymore. This has been the constant trend ever since Beyonce went solo.

Mentioning artists who's prime was damn near 20 years ago only further strengthens OP's point. :russ:

Colorism this, colorism that yet anyone that isn't Rihanna or Beyonce doesn't get any shine from them. :dead:
Colorism only exist when a black female don't get the man she wants because the male pefer a more lighter face

@GilSho @Will Ross You guys are hard pressed on blaming black women for lack lack of black female representation? Yet in the next breath want to whine about whites controlling media when it comes to Black Male representation. Which one is it?

Black women constantly fight for fairer representation on all forms of media why would they work against their best interest and not support good black female artists.

Huh? Who has Katy Perry or Taylor Swift put on? I think in the pop music world it's pretty much everyone for themselves.
Rihanna and Beyonce have no problem collabing with other pop stars just as long as they aren't in the same lane (black women). I don't even have a huge problem with that either, you need that ruthlessness in the music industry.

All I'm saying is the only reason those two have maintained this duopoly for so long is mainly because of black women and then maniacal fanaticism & borderline idol worship with their "Beyhive & Navy" shtick. Say what you want about the quality of today's rap music but at least we get new blood every year.

Why was Beyoncé bigger than Kelly among black women?

Not only that but most black female artist have to shake their asses and get butt ass naked to cross over to white folks.

Just like in the 80s for black dudes to cross over and sell to whites they had to have high pitch women like voices.

White folks like their black entertainers to not be too black but at the same time they want their black entertainers to represent every black stereotype imaginable.
Unexpected dopeness. :whoo:

Stop talking, the more you post the more idiotic you sound. Beyonce has millions of fans around the world and is extremely well marketed. You know BW are not the only women keeping her reign. BW artists have fazed out since the early 2000s slowly but surely. First in Hiphop now in RandB.

We gonna be Native American status in another decade in the media. Especially when Obama leaves office. If we aren't careful, this could be our last hurrah.

shyt some folks like Dr. Anderson have been saying that the last 8 years were the final nail in the coffin.
