The I in Team
what's yall suggest for bald heads?

I'm 26 and i've went under the razor 4 times for my head and not ONE time did it end well. I started bumping like CRAZY maybe 5 or some days after getting the razor cut. I had to get some steriod cream to ease the pain :sadbron:

Da city where the skinny nikkas die
aight first off... all of us have different grades and densities of faciral hair. yall need to stop with this 'one size fits all' advice

i used to read threads like this and get giddy and buy a bunch of shyt and start shaving only to have the same results

i settled on andis plus tea tree oil. i still get bumps but its much less.

i suggest those of you seriously wanting to shave look at this thread and see this guys journey. @Doc Holiday

Stop going out of your way for separate soaps and creams, applicants and such.
stop relying on voodoo and wishes, hopes, dreams and testimonies on products that aren't design for you (us, black ppl)

Start using one soap for your face and body that won't dry your skin out leaving you needing mass amounts of lotions or worse drying your skin to the point where you may think you have psoriasis. You can use whatever after shave you want (always use aftershave) but just use one soap and you can cut against the grain, with the grain, across the grain, with an old dirty razor, or a piece of glass..this soap will keep your skin conditioned and the hair will grow the way its supposed to.

You can do this or keep throwing your moneys away buy 4, 5 and 6 different products for a process like shaving that should be really simple

horrible advice. all our faces are different.

yea a nikka been through it all, stick razors, straight razors, gold foil electric shavers, all kinds of expensive pre and post shave skin creams/lotions/liquids and I bumped out just the same with all of them. Took years off my skin. I remember in college one of my good homies and roommate would just hop out the shower and take a cheap Bic to his face and he got no bumps at all. As long as I stick to my routine of a pharmacy pre shave lotion, clippers, and a thin layer of Bump Patrol afterwards I'm bumpless.

:myman: me too bruh, i done tried every method and just realized that my nappy ass beard hair was never meant to be shaved with a razor

Just out of curiosity anyboy who gets razor bumps in here do you luve in a humid climate? I ask because whenever im somewhere humid my skin is softer & razor bumps dont occur. Has me wondering if climate has anything to do with it.

I'm about to save yall nikkas faces. :cape:

I have possibly the worst case of bumps known to man, and I now get my shyt smoother than a baby's ass with zero bumps. Within a month I went from looking homeless to presidential status. :obama:

What you need to do is get rid of all these newfangled shaving products and these bootleg black products and treat yourself to a luxurious old school shave. It's not cheap to start, but it ends up being way less expensive due to the ridiculously low cost of replacement blades down the road.

1. Hot shower before shaving. Use conditioner in the beard to soften that shyt up. You can use a pre-shave like Pro-Raso to further prepare the hair and skin. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Proraso-Pre-shave-Cream-Refresh-Ounce/dp/B0082BYLS6/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1357742456&sr=1-1&keywords=proraso+pre+shave]Amazon.com: Proraso Pre-shave Cream, Refresh, 3.6 Ounce: Health & Personal Care[/ame]

2. Get yourself a nice silvertip badger-hair shaving brush and some baller shaving cream. I use [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Parker-Safety-Razor-Silvertip-Bristle/dp/B004B6V24M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357742655&sr=8-1&keywords=silvertip+brush]Amazon.com: Parker Safety Razor 100% Silvertip Badger Bristle Shaving Brush (Black Handle) & Free Shaving Brush Stand: Health & Personal Care[/ame]

and

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Old-Bond-Street-Avocado/dp/B001L6X522/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357742704&sr=8-2&keywords=taylor+of+old+bond+street+shaving+cream]Amazon.com: Taylor of Old Bond Street Avocado Shaving Cream in a Bowl [Health and Beauty]: Health & Personal Care[/ame]

and work yourself up a nice lather with piping hot water.

3. The razor: I like the Merkur slant because it gets super close even shaving with the grain. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Slant-Safety-Razor-37C/dp/B001LY7GEM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top]Amazon.com: Merkur HD Slant Safety Razor 37C: Health & Personal Care[/ame]

There are many blades you can use. Derby blades are good and cheap. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Derby-Extra-Double-Razor-Blades/dp/B004SGKMA0/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1357743200&sr=1-1&keywords=derby+razor+blades]Amazon.com: Derby Extra Double Edge Razor Blades, 100 Count: Health & Personal Care[/ame] Feather blades are insanely sharp and are great for special occasions. This is where you get the money back. Each blade is a few cents, and they last several shaves.

4. Shave with the grain only if you have bad ingrown hairs. This is super important. 2 or 3 passes. Keep the skin hot and lathered the whole time.

5. After shave. I seal off any cuts with an alum block, then cold water rinse, then splash of witch hazel, then some Nivea sensitive skin after shave.

It's a long process, and the startup cost is substantial, but the reason why you have razor bumps is because you take shortcuts and use shyt products. :manny:

It does smell like SUPER potent aftershave, no doubt, but does it work??

Sort of. It does kill the bumps, but it dries my shyt out so hard that I end up breaking out and getting all irritated after a month or so no matter how much moisturizer I use.

It works real good as a woman repellent tho. I can barely stand the smell of myself with that stuff.
