most of those people you named are seen as amazing actors.. almost half have been up for oscars and or emmys.. a lot of sustained careers over 10-20-30-40 years of solid work

this euro invasion is new.. it wasn't like this in the 90s or even the 00s. so what NEW actors are classically trained, that are getting passed over? shyt corey hawkings just had his own motherfukking show... 24 at that. one of the highest rated franchises in history, which starred a legendary white guy, and he got the role after one breakout performance.

That said look at the names on this list and think about what roles you know them from and what roles they get today.
David Allen Grier classically trained actor, didn't get famous until In Living Color and is stuck doing comedies.
Steve Harris and Wood Harris have to black either a "street lawyer" or in Wood's case a "thug" to even get attention.
Courtney B Vance's biggest role before OJ simpson was being Whitney Houston's husband in The Preacher's Wife.
Keith David is known as playing a gangster or shady man in black films or being a preacher.
Viola Davis didn't get her break until playing a house maid.
Corey Hawkings had to play Dr. Dre as a thug to get recognition.
The First Aunt Viv had to play a mom on a sitcom to get fame.

Think about those roles, I had another post about Taraji P Henson, the husband and wife who act on Empire both being classically trained actors as well. The guy who played Marlo being classically trained.

Think about the opportunities they were limited to having, before you knew about them.
Think about the level of film most of them have to do, just to work and compare it to the opportunities of say a white brit or even a white american.

Whats crazy is how people talk about the brits on that show and ignore than Wood Harris, Avon, had the classical background just like Elba. Lance Reddikk was a Yale Drama school graduate. Reg E. Cathey aka Norm Wilson on the Wire was a Yale drama school graduate, Frankie Faison aka Ervin Burrell on the wire, undergrad in Drama and a graduate from NYU in acting. Isiah Whitlock Jr aka Clay Davis, a graduate of American Conservatory Theater, Jamie Hector aka Marlo a graduate of the The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute.

These people ignore what is right in their face, and like we've said it seems to come from this deeply held beleif that black americans are inferior.

Just because one only sees race that doesn't mean they aren't xenophobic, especially when they're reasons for doing so are nefarious at best. AA try their best to use reverse psychology in this "we all Black" BS. When Black foreigners acknowledge and celebrate our culture their is an immediate push back of ethnocentrism. Often times encouraging xenocentrism from black foreigners. When black Americans encourage the conflating of Black= AA (culture), that in itself is xenophobic, cause y'all quick to get upset if we were to say "we ain't black (like yall), or "me no negro papi".

There isn't a unified black culture, we black americans have different slang and cultural behaviors based on location, west coast, south, midwest, and northeast. So if you say we black AA encourage conflating of a culture, one that many of us detest being pushed about us internationally, I'd have to say you are lying out right.

Really wish they would just admit this than shytting on American actors as being undertrained and not capable. Its an insult to intelligence. Like Yale and Juliard don't produce classes of actors every year that are classically trained, not to mention the non Ivy League or hyper prestigious universities with strong theater/acting departments.
Its only natural that black american actors feel the brunt of this seeing their place in the system.

The go to thing is to shyt on African Americans breh. shyt is fashionable.

One thing I've learned about being raised here by parents who unlike most Africans knew what time it was, UK Blacks are really naive when it comes to white American racism and how foreign blacks are weaponized to attack African Americans.

What is the value of asking me this if I didn't speak as if I know the behavior of U.K. White racism?

You're not from here. Instead of learning from us here on their behavior, you want to act like U.K. Blacks are just as much in the know of white American racism as blacks living here.
