instead of blaming the the corporations and going after them, you go after your fellow worker.

This is how we all lose.

They're not really our fellow workers though. Their status as illegal immigrants means it's hard to unionize and demand better conditions from the corporations.

It's not easy to convince someone working illegally to call attention to themselves by challenging the corporation.

Their desperation/willingness to take shyt from the corporations directly undermines the ability to unionize and hold the corporation accountable to the workers.

not like southern states unfortunately have had a hand in union busting and dismantling of unions and the growing number of stats trying to pass right to work laws like in the midwest, which they'd use to replace people at whim anyway

You're not understanding.

They are being hired and also being exploited. That is all thanks to right-to-work and other anti-union laws that have eradicated workers' rights in America.

But they are being hired because the businesses/corporations have never had to answer for their hiring practices. So you need to target those businesses/corporations that insist on hiring undocumented persons.

The only way this all changes is when we develop class solidarity. Instead, most of you don't see the bigger picture and end up chasing your tail. Punishing undocumented workers is not going to make things right until we develop class solidarity.

I am in agreement that both corporations and illegal workers themselves should face consequences from undermining legal residents ability to have a job. Priority should be given to legal residents first, then people who apply for Visas second, and no under the table illegal immigrant workers, else corporations will be able to exploit workers.

Removing illegal workers is not antithetical to unionizing. We don't need illegal workers for unions to exist.

Do you think illegals are running to OSHA and the FDA?

Hiring illegals makes everything and everyone more unsafe because they don't report anything in the first place.
You just like to say stuff don't you?

Remember the Cloverhill Bakery story you like to share? Well, they were bought by Hostess. Wanna guess what happened then? They automated and laid off a large number of workers. Now their profits have increased bigly!

Oh, and your claim about working conditions improving afterwards for the new workforce?

Bullshyt!

No change at bakery, workers say

On May 1, the day celebrated throughout the world as a day of workers' rights activism, activists from Black Workers Matter and their allies gathered in front of Galewood's Hostess Bakery, 2035 N. Narragansett Ave., to allege that the pattern of racial discrimination and retaliatory firing that happened under the plant's previous owners have continued since the current owners took over a year ago.

As previously reported by Austin Weekly News, activists had complained that what was then known as Cloverhill Bakery went out of its way to avoid hiring African-Americans. When an Immigration and Customs Enforcement audit forced them to fire undocumented Hispanic workers, the black workers that were hired in their place received little training, low pay and were more readily punished. When Aryzta LLC sold the plant to Hostess in 2018, the activists decided to give the new owners a few months to do better.

During the course of the May 1 press conference, activists alleged that the plant still employs "racist and abusive" managers, including some that were fired by Aryzta. They also said that two workers were fired under flimsy pretexts for union organization and trying to bring abuses to light. Black Workers Mattered insisted that, unless Hostess, at the very least, rehires those workers, they will push back through protests and legal action.

So once again, this looks like a problem with EMPLOYERS! I wonder why there isn't a more concentrated push against this. Hmm.

@śïñe•qúå_nøn somehow believes the companies are blameless. Even though various articles he posted said these businesses and companies can verify if a worker is legal or not.
Remember, this fukk nikka ran when he lost the debate.

And this a$$hole SUPPORTS illegals lying to obtain jobs

You know what happens when undocumented persons are deported? They bring guest workers over and still don't pay citizens.

We need more pro-worker/pro-union laws. That is what you should see as the answer here. We need to punish those corporations. And we need to figure out a way to a)make those undocumented persons legal residents because they aren't going anywhere and usually come back b)unionize them.

That's why going after those undocumented workers pointless and doesn't do much to help poor citizens. It is chasing your tail.

Heres the "bigger picture"

For a while, Juan Grant said the hard work was worth it. With his better wage, he was starting to finally save a little. He talked about buying a used Honda, and about getting serious with his girlfriend.
