People really created all types of fabricated diss requirements to defend Aubrey. I have zero issue with ranking Not Like Us lower than No Vaseline and many other diss records. But like you said, given the way that shyt has rang off and how good it is...it deserves to be ranked on lists. We can put it low for now if people like but as the years go by it's gonna rise up the list. Will I ever put it above Ether or No Vaseline? Nope. But hell, a movie don't gotta be better than The Godfather to be great too.

For one. The "36 in Karate Class" shyt was a joke based on Jay working out and doing martial arts/boxing on one of his Behind The Music's at the time. I'm not saying it's a criteria. Son said Meet The Grahams was the best diss as far as digging into someone's soul and breaking them down as a man. I said how when the shyt is mostly gossip? How is it the BEST diss in that regard? Story Of Adidon deserves it over Meet The Grahams in THAT regard. And neither belong in a top 10 disses of all time. nikka listed 2 Kendrick tracks and didn't list Hit Em Up. And IM the one buggin? Lol. Aight. Most great disses have gossip. But there's also a balance as well. Ether had gossip but it also had more facts than people give it credit for. shyt was a perfect mixture of jokes, facts, scolding, and gossip. Which is why it was so effective in the first place.

What was the gossip/fact ratio for Hit Em Up....

The most damaging parts of that song were the analysis of Drake as a man, and his family. Same with Story Of Adidon. Both broke down who he is as a person and why he's a loser. In terms of the gossip I will ask you this: in the (likely) event that we learn Drake has a daughter/other children, will that change your mind about the record?

I agree I'm not ranking any Kendrick track above most of the disses discussed in this thread yet. Recency bias has to be taken into account. That being said you DO have to see that at least a couple of these records will be ranked very favorably in the future right. Not Like Us alone is gonna be in the top 10-15 one day. The hottest rap song in the world being a diss song, with crowds around the globe clowning Drake for weeks with no end in sight...that's a historic level W for Kendrick that will be acknowledged.

It was never meant to be those songs. It's a club/pop record ala "Back To Back", to beat Drake at his own game.

"Meet The Grahams" is more along the lines of those records and how that was received is definitely in line with the songs you mentioned.

We never had that type of diss track where they broke down the family dynamics in such the way that K Dot broke it down. It was like a therapy session.
