I had a former coworker who went through something similar to the main character.
He lost the mortgage on his home, still paying off his lawyer, has to pay full child support and only gets partial custody of his kid. I think his ex wife was an RN so she was making money than him
It was ironic they split after having a kid.
The baby was maybe 2 months before they called it a wrap.

Having kids will test the dynamics of a relationship. If it wasn’t that strong to begin with, then the stress from deciding how to raise kids, caring for an infant, child care decisions, time management, responsibilities -will all affect that.

I’ll prep myself mentally. Nobody in my family has ever been divorced b4 so it’s really hard to imagine...

The only gripe about this movie I have is that this divorce was completely preventable on both sides, and as much as people are knocking the ending it was there to kind of show that point. They loved each other, but he was used to being in control(granted she let him) and she went way too hard by hiring the lawyer she did and not even wanting to talk to him or the counselor(who in a way was trying to warn both of them that their marriage was fixable cause he clearly had seen some fukked up marriages and this wasn't it).
