You can love them all you want, that's not going to supersede their addiction. They have to want to grow past it themselves, they have to want to improve themselves. It ain't about you nor what you do nor provide for them. No baby is going to make them want to be better. That has to come from within. It is a rare thing that you or anyone else is going to motivate/guilt/cajole/force them to grow, especially when life has been repeatedly punching them in the face and they don't recognize the need for a change in approach.


Your time is much better spent talking a hard look at yourself and identifying your own addictions, so you can get to work. Build with people who are about finding joy in the work.
