I've actually done the thread on Sohh also back in the day. It's mostly an educational thread. I know some NaS fans are upset cause they didn't know he used that many Big rhymes. But NaS always had respect for Big. Again Jay is the #1 offender. But that line that NaS said on Ether always struck me cause as bad as Jay was at Biting Big, the rest of Hip Hop is guilty as charged also. Based on all the lyrics taken it's clear Hip Hop STANS Big, lol.

Nah im not one of THOSE Nas fans. Dont bother me that Nas borrowed a line from Biggie, im pretty sure if Big was alive today he wouldve eventually bit some of Nas shyt. Plus Jay dun bit a good bit of Nas' lines too(i still cringe a lil bit when listening to the second verse of What more Can I say).

I give Biggie props because he said alot of clever shyt, he just didn't say enough imo to be ranked as high as some of u put him. Y'all same ppl would be doing the same shyt with Nas had he died when It Was written was released.

theres a difference between bitin lines and usin lines that EVERYONE knows is bigs

like that nas hook on LRNA

now jay sayin lesser known likes like 'its hard to yell when the barrels in ya mouth' is different

NaS's "LRNA" bite wasn't a very known song. Not many fans know Big ripped that verse on that Red hot Lover Tone ish only Hip Hop heads know about that track, it's not like it was a Platinum album or single:

"Lord have mercy, Jesus Christ, He's just nice, he just slice like a Ginsu, Look at the life that I been through" - NaS

"Lord have mercy, Jesus Christ, He's just nice, he just slice like a Ginsu, Look what I been through" - Biggie

What I find ironic about the "Bring em out" bite from Jay was he defended himself against NaS charge then on the very next line he bites Big. Then Swizz Beats goes and samples Jay Z biting Big. T.I. releases it and it's a Platinum hit single and Biggie got zero publishing for it. Meanwhile a lot of kids in the new generation didn't even know the Jay sample was actually a Biggie bite. Jay even sampled the same beat:

Right, but that was the point of him doin it like that... it connects

At first he says the "I say a Big verse I'm only biggin up my brotha, biggin up my borough, big enough to do it, I'm that thorough..."

then follows it up... "SO 'the ring's and things you sing about bring em out'"...

It was the set-up for the Big line, and then the Big line came. It wasn't just by chance that it followed.

But like someone else said, it's not like Jay, Nas, or whoever HAVE to use lines from Big, it's just kinda like a shoutout. Also, people forget, other people have done the same to Jay and Nas' lines. Hell, even Cam'ron has flipped Jay lines, which is about the most ironic thing of the whole shyt ("Yes, yall'n, Killa Cam be ballin", "He can't even walk thru Harlem again")

That's why Biggie Small :win:

Not to mention, that motherf*kcer brought East Coast rap back on the map then all of the sudden that some of rappers switch up their styles.

Damn, :sadbron: I wish Biggie Small get one more album before he died....THAT'S NOT FAIR! :sadbron:

Hey Rapmasterd...I disagree with you about Nas' on Ether. He did this for a good reason because Nas actually pointed him out that Jay-Z has nerve to say he's better than Biggie so that's why Nas flipped him out about how much Biggie's rhymes from his damn fat lips.

I'm fine with NaS calling Jay out on his Biggie biting cause it was obviously out of control. The line was funny too. I just find it ironic that after saying that, he himself would then go on and do it also. It's like NaS actually understood why Jay did it after Jay explained himself as far as keeping Big's legacy alive. Then NaS joined in the party. It is true that most of NaS's biggie quotes came after "Ether".

As for those saying I may be reaching on the "Ether" flow Bite, we all can agree to disagree about him biting "Who Shot Ya" "Need to Learn Though" part but I clearly see the flow there and the very next line after that he talks about Big too. Also everyone gets on Jay for "The Remi in the system" line but he actually gave Biggie publishing on "Give It To Me". It's just he failed to give Big publishing on the other 99% of the lyrics he had used. With that said. NaS was rumored to be ghostwriting for "Bravehearts" and on "Oochie Wally", Horse Bit Big:

Biggie: "When it comes to sex, I'm similar to the thrilla in manilla, B!tches call me Bigger the Condom Filler"

Horse: "When It comes to sex, I'm similar to the thrilla in manilla, B!tches call me Horse, the pu$$y filler"

yeah, looks like Jay has paid enough respect to Big...like a CDs worth of respect...lol...Jay-Z is overrated piece of sh!t.

and Wayne...uhh...he just shouldn't be allowed...

Kim quoting Big alot shouldn't be that big a deal though...

that's crazy hearing Biggie rap Queen B*tch...

hmm...yeah there is just no way Kim herself would be capable of flow like that...

funny to hear Biggie talk about "got baffoons eatin my p*ssy while I watch cartoons"....

another reason to think Biggie is the greatest of all time...Biggie was Lil Kim...

It's 2012 and the Saga still Continues:

Biggie: "Brawl nights I perform like Mike, Anyone, Tyson, Jordan, Jackson" 97'

KanYe: "How Michael Felt, Tyson, Jackson, Jordan, Michael Phelps" 12'

Biggie: "Who Shot Ya, Separate the Weak from the Obsolete, it's hard to creep these Brooklyn Streets" 94'

Mike Shinoda: "Who Shot Ya, Separate the weak from the Obsolete, Your meek, I creep hard on these impostors" 12'

The Evidence is getting overwhelming now. Most Bitten Lyrically of all Time.

With the release of Kendrick Lamar and Meek Mill debut mainstream albums. The Saga Still Continues:

Biggie: "Goin back to Cali strictly for the Weather, Women and the Weed" 97 (Goin Back To Cali)
Kendrick: "Women, Weed and Weather" 12' (The Recipe)

Biggie: "It Was All A Dream, I use to read word up Magazine" 94' (Juicy)
Meek: "It was all a Dream, On those corners servin Fiends" 12' (Maybach Curtains)

Biggie: "Birthdays was the worst days, now we sip champagne when we thristy" 94' (Juicy)
Meek: "Birthdays was the worst days, Last week I made a hundred on Thursday" 12' (Maybach Curtains)

It's no longer biting or homage anymore. It's a damn ritual to take Biggie rhymes at this point. One rappers is from the West and one rapper is from Philly.

Will Smith: "And Then like Boom Black Suits Fill The Room" 97' (Men in Black).
