ever since, the protection mechanism were destroyed.

this is the after effects of reverting the rap game.
back into the old school way of thought.
from the new school way of thought.
complete degradation that destroyed the profitability, to artistic merit of rsp as a business and msic genre.
taking us back to wack ass 84-85 level.

A lot of these are stretches. There's subtle allusions all the time in hip-hop. "Pusha bit Scarface's flow and bars on Nightmares! :sadcam:" :stopitslime:

Even if Pac was dissing Big, he still took the "Playa's Anthem" Flow cause even he knew "Playa's Anthem" was the anthem. "Hit em Up" also uses the same beat that was used on the "Get Money Remix":

"Grab your dikks if you love Hip Hop, Rub your tittes if you love Big Poppa"

"Grab your glocks when you see Tupac, Call the Cops when you see Tupac"

That's different tho'... because it was kinda the point. They were a direct reference to the fact that he was goin' at Big on the song. It's not like it was a song that had nothing to do with Big and he just did it for the hell of it.

Homie with the DMX line was the biggest stretch in the thread tho' "Needy" and "greedy" rhyme... they were bound to be used together again someday, but that's not a jack of Biggie's line in any kinda way.

NaS: "I'm tryin to kick that shyt you need to learn though, That Ether, that shyt that make your soul burn slow" 01' (Ether) (The song also samples the gunshots in Who Shot Ya)
This is a wild ass reach :wow:

That Biggie line Nas used is just as random tho'... that's from a verse on a Red Hot Lover Tone song of all things. It doesn't get more random than that.

But yeah... I don't think it makes a diff either way, it's not like people are using them and trying to pass them off as their own. MOST of the Big lines are pretty well-known ones- I don't think anyone uses "It was all a dream" thinking nobody'll notice...

It does say a lot about how great a lot of his rhymes were tho'.

He clearly jack Big's flow on that. Look I'm a NaS fan but he did bite Big rhymes too, if anything After what he said on "Ether" he should of known not to do it but he did it anyway. In no way was it at the level of Jay. Jay is by far the worst offender but NaS did take quite a few.

:beli:

(fukk the other rappers) but are ya'll act like Hov and Nas need Big's lyrics too bite. Are you trynna say that they would be lyrically incompotent without them? I don't get the point of this thread.

The point of this thread is asking how a guy with only 2 LP's has been bitten this much lyrically. The question of the thread is Biggie the most bitten rapper of all time. Nobody is saying NaS or Hov need Big rhymes but they both have taken rhymes from him as well as a lot of hip hop.

easy answer....... when you look at biggie's limited musical catalog next to all other artist in the goat convo who all have hundreds of songs its easy to assess he is the p4p goat of hip hop history by the way his enemies and peers have stanned his lines in life and death...

Well it's not just about rhyming "Needy and Greedy" but how each word is used. X and Big used them in the same way but I said it "May" be a bite not that it was.

I think Big just had a unique way of saying his rhymes that other emcees really paid attention. It's funny cause sometimes fans say Big was a "Simple" or "Basic" lyricist but Big was the master at getting more out of less. He didn't need to do acrobatics or crazy vocab, he got so much out of 1 line it's crazy. Take a line like "Birthdays are the worst days now we sip champagne when we thirsty". It's like when a rapper is in the booth, for some reason or another a Biggie rhyme just fits in their rhyme scheme cause his bars are timeless.

I listened to almost every Biggie verse he released and I seriously couldn't find a "Wack" verse. There may be a average line here or there but his verses were always tight. It didn't matter who he was on a track with. It could be Michael Jackson or Shaq, Biggie always went in on his verses. It's just funny that the guy with the most limited material is the most sampled lyricist. Big was like the Hendrix/Bruce Lee of Hip Hop. He is admired for his skillset on the mic even though he had limited material.
