Well it's not just about rhyming "Needy and Greedy" but how each word is used. X and Big used them in the same way but I said it "May" be a bite not that it was.

I think Big just had a unique way of saying his rhymes that other emcees really paid attention. It's funny cause sometimes fans say Big was a "Simple" or "Basic" lyricist but Big was the master at getting more out of less. He didn't need to do acrobatics or crazy vocab, he got so much out of 1 line it's crazy. Take a line like "Birthdays are the worst days now we sip champagne when we thirsty". It's like when a rapper is in the booth, for some reason or another a Biggie rhyme just fits in their rhyme scheme cause his bars are timeless.

I listened to almost every Biggie verse he released and I seriously couldn't find a "Wack" verse. There may be a average line here or there but his verses were always tight. It didn't matter who he was on a track with. It could be Michael Jackson or Shaq, Biggie always went in on his verses. It's just funny that the guy with the most limited material is the most sampled lyricist. Big was like the Hendrix/Bruce Lee of Hip Hop. He is admired for his skillset on the mic even though he had limited material.

been saying this forever........no one could paint a picture or put so much substance in one line.......NO RAPPER DEAD OR ALIVE
"nothin to lose tatooed around his gun wounds/everything to gain embedded in his brain"
or
"my rap lines is like land mines/one step ka-boom black suits fill the room"
really :ohhh: all that in one fuggin line:shaq: ish like that aint even fair :heh:
pac got a million songs, jay got a million songs, nas got a million songs, krs, rakim, ice cube,g-rap or throw in ya fave rapper here yet biggie flows and lines been stanned the most by other artists and it aint even close with 2 albums:krs:.

BIGGIE lived to see 1, i repeat 1 album.....the level of growth from RTD to LAD is leaps and bounds ahead of any other artist from debut to sophmore project....niccaz can argue others in the goat category had a more lengthy catalog due to him having 2 albums but P4P biggie is the GOAT.....it aint even close.....

The dude Biggie was born to rap man. His cadence and flow was like butter. Every phrase doesn’t necessarily rhyme but sound so smooth. “Birthdays worst days, pagne, thirstay plus the syllables inbetween just sound great. Pusha likes to take the odd Biggie line too.

He also really set the blueprint for the modern rapper. So everyone is pretty much emulating the stuff he done back in the mid 90's.

Fabolous used the Big Poppa Baby lines in his song Baby because really, that's the song they're trying to recreate. So his rhymes all always relevant.

Add that to the fact his rhyme scheme, flow and cadence are so smooth you can just plant a quick 2 Biggie bars in your raps and it will sound slick as fukk. Again, I think a dude like Pusha loves the imagery Biggie could come up with in 2 bars.

"my rap lines is like land mines/one step ka-boom black suits fill the room"

That's an excellent bar. The image is vivid and hardcore. Best of all, it sounds slick as fukk even if it was just gibberish.

Finally someone with the same point of view as me, I remember listening to the last verse of hypnotize for th first time and being blown away.

'where the safe? show me, homay" just sounded so ill to me but was so simple:yeshrug:

Yes, that is a great bar and you will not believe who Bit that bar on their #1 Grammy Award Winning Hit Single:

Biggie: "One Step Ka-BOOM, Black Suits Fill The Room" 95 (Can't You See)
Will Smith: "And Then like Boom Black Suits Fill The Room" 97' (Men in Black)

Yea Pusha is a huge Biggie stan. I love the way he flipped "What's Beef" on "Exodus", that shyt was hard as hell.

It's laughable that some people on here put Rick Ross in the same category as him.

Rozay aint got slick lines like Big man.

Big wrote this piff when he was in his early 20s :wow:

Ricky finally came out and admitted Biggie was the GOAT cause it's obvious who's style he was biting.

Ur Biggie stanning knows no bounds. Same exact thread from AHH :mjpls:

I've actually done the thread on Sohh also back in the day. It's mostly an educational thread. I know some NaS fans are upset cause they didn't know he used that many Big rhymes. But NaS always had respect for Big. Again Jay is the #1 offender. But that line that NaS said on Ether always struck me cause as bad as Jay was at Biting Big, the rest of Hip Hop is guilty as charged also. Based on all the lyrics taken it's clear Hip Hop STANS Big, lol.

rhyming me with homie... or is it homay :ooh:

:russ:

:smh:

"Show me" rhymes with "homie".

And yeah, Big didn't need a bunch of multi-syllabic words and complex references, he was doing a lot with everyday words that anyone could grasp, that's why I think his rhymes connected so much. Because it was hard to not respect how he put the verses together lyrically, and also it was easy to understand and catchy so the casual listener could rock with it too... You'd think it was easy to do both, but alot of other people are only capable of doing one or the other.
