What if I only had to get somewhere that was a mile away? I cant be considered fast no matter what? :lupe:

True. Running a mile fast as hell is impressive but you prolly couldn't ever double the distance at the same pace. A cat that runs 3 miles on the reg can likely run that 6 at a similar pace (like if a niqqa could win some dough and they was motivated).

The other part is: I'm hatin. There. I said it.

Oh most defintely. Like I mentioned before, I was quicker than the soccer guy but he was faster over the distance. I could blow the doors off him in a 1600m and win handily in the mile but his pace would likely catch up to me by mile 2 and probably put half a track between us by mile 5 easy. I was a power runner, not about that distance life. I ran CC one year, never again.

I was never a distance dude, but fastest I ever ran a mile was probably 6 something. But that was in HS at 160 lbs:lolbron:

I did it recently at 200 and it was 7:20 mins, so :manny:.

Funny thing is, long distance running is the one physical advantage humans have over pretty much every other animal. Most of us Coli brehs in average male shape could technically 'run down' a Cheetah over miles of super flat-ass terrain. Might take forever and some breaks:flabbynsick: but without being able to rest fully, the Cheetah's heart would explode.

Winning
Sophomore year in Highschool.

Edit: I see some of you guys didnt actually run track at competitive schools or comps in HS. 4:29 is fast but if you are a state/region champion level runner, they will time in low 4:00s. I will speculate that my fastest time wouldve been maybe only a few seconds faster than my fastest timed mile. I just got too large a frame that was specific for collegiate football that I would have HAD to been slower.
breh I'm a track head and no way you was running a legit 4.29 in high school I went to school and ran with lashawn merrit probably never heard of him but

he won the gold medal in 08 I ran a 4.38 in my prime and that was college shyt and there was this other guy who I ran with by the name of Percy Harvin might know him so your saying in high school you was running faster than percy and lashawn who won the gold in bejing plus my bro desean Jackson one of the fastest in the NFL ran a best 4.35 so you was faster than him too :mindblown: in high school :damn::rudy:

Breh, the record for a high schooler was set just a few years ago by some Virginia kid and it was 3:50 something. I can't speak on you or the guy you know and posted but unless you were running the 1600m, what your fastest mile is doesn't mean anything if you're doing longer distances breh. And I was by no means the fastest 1600m guy. I also didn't say I ran a 4.29 40 in HS. I said I ran a 4:29 1600m in HS. My 4.29 40yd best was in college. Which in sure by that time, was a slower 1600m because of my size at that point. Which was the whole reason why I still got recruited despite my injuries, because of my speed relative to my build.

More specific to it, I will tell you right now and flat out, there are guys on the practice squad of every football team that is faster than a starter. Facts my dude. That's no hating on any player. I have college teammates still in the league now. I grew up in a football family. My dad played in the league. I can't speak about this player or that, that's not the point of the thread but I'm also not going to downplay my personal achievements for the sake of another player (or his homie as you say). If you know these dudes like you say, I guarantee they will say the same. I had people who were proud of me just like you are for them so nah, I'm not downplaying myself just to appease an internet debate. So to answer your question, if you know X player that didn't run a 4:29 mile in HS then yes, I was faster than them. If you know X player that didn't run a 4.29 40yd In college, then yes they were slower than me. Just like I was slower than someone else in both instances and the football players you know, are slower than guys on their own Praxtice Squad who only made the team due solely to extreme speed or power but less "football" talent. I mentioned earlier that after my injuries and leaving school I still got calls from the Falcons wanting me to come to Training Camp to see if I still had that speed. I did not and knew it so I flaked. I wasn't going to quit my job, lose out on income and go through all that training to get in playing shape only to at most, be on a practice squad. I made better money with job security doing what I was already doing.

It's just how it is breh. No hate or hard feelings pleighboi.

:manny:

Edit: Highschool record was indeed 3:53 1600m.
