Swimming and cycling >>>>>>>>>Running

Once I'm able to finish this 5k at a decent time, I'm switching to swimming and cycling. Better on joints and more cardio.

Desk jobs or jobs in general are why people don't work out.

Mfs are just lazy. Everybody works. And even homeless people and retired people aren't working out like that. There are no excuses. It's just laziness. There's not a single person in the world that's too busy has too many kids, works too much. Them same mfs will be up on the latest episode or series of whatever's hot or have watched every marvel movie or put 50 hours into whatever video games they play but but but they don't got time to run, or jog, or walk, or ride a bike, or row, or swim, or anything.

shyt takes discipline and structure to do.

It actually doesn't. That's one of the first mainstream lies that were perpetuated through tv commercials and shyt which is why one of the biggest infomercial sellers has always been some sort of "abs made easy" or thigh master, or some sort of fitness device.

The only thing that takes discipline and structure is if you are a professional athlete and are required to train, eat, rest, recover, travel, compete.

A person walking around there block for an hour a day isnt disciplined. There's no structure. It's just doing something physically active. Kids aren't structured or disciplined when they go outside and run around and play with their friends. There's no more structure or discipline doing something that happens to be active than there is someone who fukks off all day or night watching Netflix, sports, playing videogames. And most mfs find time to do that 2hrs or more a day, every day.

It's just a hobby, and how you manage your time. People like to do what they like to do. Yeah you can take it really serious and spend money and time and obsess over it and do like the professionals. shyt even being a movie buff requires watching lots of movies and all types, not just what's popular. And most people don't want to do that.

But the whole you gotta be cut from a certain cloth or he some special type of person, or tough, disciplined, structured that's just elitist people trying to separate themselves from normal people and be a gatekeeper and people who have no ambition or motivation justifying in their mind why they can't or won't do something "im not that type of person, it's too much work, you gotta be built different, you gotta have a different mindset or personality, that just ain't me".

Working 5 days a week, cooking 7 days a week, cleaning, taking care of kids, Dr. Appointments, parent/teacher conferences.

Since when is that lazy?

:birdman:

Most I have ever ran was 19 miles in one day. I’m sure I could knock out 20+ miles in one session if I didn’t care about pace. I enjoy running and competing in distances that are no more than a half marathon at this moment. One of the best lifestyle changes I have made years ago after COVID.

I routinely run between 3-6 miles depending on how I'm feeling the day of. The most I've ran without stopping is 7 mi. My cardio is better now than when I was younger but my recovery time is shyt in comparison :dead:

Definitely make sure you get a good pair of shoes. You'll be surprised the difference it makes. It's probably time that I get a new pair.

EDIT: Forgot to mention running uphill took shyt to a different level, I never did it up until recently :wow:

I do 5K for conditioning for my boxing.

I don't do it as often as I should though. Also my feet start to feel numb after a while. I'm sure its my shoes but if anyone else has any tips for this let me know.

Make sure your shoes aren't too tight. I've noticed when running outside when it gets cooler out, I can't tie my shoes the same way I normally would or my toes will start to go numb. I'm sure there's some scientific explanation behind it, but I would try that first
