I never run a single mile because it doesnt make me tired at all. I always do at least 5 miles. and I have a lingering bum hamstring still.

that being said, I can run 5-7 mile runs at a pace of about 8:40 per mile on a good day (not too windy or hot/humid outside or snow on the ground).

this is me yesterday:

If you click on your profile picture in the app, it will still tell you your fastest mile time (the track it for each mile even on long runs).

I think some cats are telling :duck: in here. hardly ANYONE can run a 5 minute mile. as you said that is 12mph on the treadmill and a VERY fast pace to maintain for that distance/time.
I can't exactly co-sign this.I think you need to be a definite athlete with great stamina but I can't say "barely anyone". Most people depending on their build and sport will peak in HS because of weight and what not. The main reason I timed my mile was because I got lapped jogging with this nerdy ass kid on the track. I asked him what he played and he said soccer. I learned about soccer players conditioning and leg strength from him. Dude was just a casual player but just had natural speed. He wasnt as fast as me because I was a sprinter but he could run at a high clip all gotdamn day that I couldnt keep up with.

Why are you not in the league breh?!

Just track? Or football too?
I ran track in mid-highschool. I played football since I was a kid. I blew my acl sophomore year, had a hard recovery going into college. I played D1 but I blew it again in spring training. I spent more time in physical therapy than I did practice and S&C training. :mjcry: Sophomore yr college I had an unrelated accident and it was over with. I barely survived, let alone played again competitively. Got invited by the Falcons to come to TC but I wasnt in playing shape, nore would I ever be again. :flabbynsick: Didnt even go. My pops was pissed (played in the league). I was getting money with my management company in Atlanta by then so I wasnt tripping at all.

Sophomore year in Highschool.

Edit: I see some of you guys didnt actually run track at competitive schools or comps in HS. 4:29 is fast but if you are a state/region champion level runner, they will time in low 4:00s. I will speculate that my fastest time wouldve been maybe only a few seconds faster than my fastest timed mile. I just got too large a frame that was specific for collegiate football that I would have HAD to been slower.

You know a 5 minute mile is 12 on the treadmill right? :mjlol:

the world record is 3:43 but you can jog a 5 minute mile...:usure:

on topic though I'm between 6-7 if I'm running. did a 1/2 marathon earlier this year and just missed under 2 hours. Like 9:39 per for 13.1 miles :ld:
I don't use a treadmill :beli:

dog, so u were a D1 athelete on scholarship if ur 40 speed is 4.29 and ur running 4:29/mi. that kinda means you're an elite level athlete. not average joe staying in shape.
