Tim and G didn't fall out until 2009. They worked together on a song for G's 2009 album. A video was shot. The song was performed on a late night show. Missy showed up, but Tim, who was also on the song didn't. That is when G called out Tim for not being supportive. He never said Tim was acting funny during the time period you gave. Ginuwine lost two parents during that time period and Aaliyah died. Tim had has own label and a host of other artists he was working with. Ginuwine wanted to be his own man, so he branched out, which also included less writing fron Static, and more of him writing his own music.
None of Ginuwine's music is geared towards sales. The quality of his albums suffered after Tim was no longer at the helm. G's music after Tim wasn't "serious R&B" or at least no more serious than what he was doing with Tim. G's latter albums didn't have the focus or theme that his Timbo produced albums did where his first album dealt with the ins and outs of being single and the second one dealt with the ins and outs being with the one who completes you hence 100%.
Ginuwine's legacy was solidified with 100%. After that he became a singles artist. Ginuwine's first albums were copped vs. the latter albums where only the singles were a bigger deal than the album. I'm willing to bet many, if not most R&B heads and most Ginuwine fans have one of his first two as his best album and far ahead of anything else he dropped album wise. The same people might say "Differences" is his best song or one of his best, but out of his whole catalog, I guarantee a Top 10 Best Ginuwine songs would be filled with classics he made with Tim. Even Ginuwine knows that, which is why they were supposed to reunite for a sequel to his debut. Even when Ginuwine out right said he ain't like Tim, he said dude was the greatest producer ever right after saying he didn't like him.
