they lose credibility by exaggerating the findings of some of these papers

example 1(first one I clicked on)
they claim this paper (amongst others) says that thc cures brain cancer, it does not say that; It can't say that. it is a pilot study, marijuana was not smoked, only 2 patients immunostained were reported to show a decrease in tumor cell proliferation

There are def discrepancies and things aren't 100%. If they were, pot would be completely legal and every cancer patient would be given pot to heal them. There has to be a lot more research and like I said, with pot becoming more legal, better studies will be out there. All of the current info on pot was found mostly in the underground with a few of these studies being sponsored by the government and those are mostly the links on that page. Not being able to test on humans in most of the studies is an obvious drawback but if you look into it, you may agree with my stance.

Edit: And Im not claiming pot is the end all be all. Its just another tool in a full range of medicines that can help but my view is it is one of the most dominant in curing.

Even Vegetarians can become dietetics because of their eating of fruits and nuts. Natural sugar is still a large sugar intake.
Well yeah, contemporary nutrition science states that only 10% of the human diet should allot sugar, but I think someone posted an article yesterday / today which stated how it was significantly lowered to like 5%. Point blank, the western diet is saturated an abundance of much sugar on average. Excess sugar is incredibly hazardous, especially in regards to health and tooth decay...

But that shouldn't take away from the ideal diet consisting of a colorful array of plant life...
Yep. This isnt the first time ive seen conclusions like this about high protein intake that I recall actually.
Personally I've seen them all from hi fat to low carb...

At the end of the day, I think as long as you eat your vegetables, limit your alcohol intake, drink plenty of water, and stay active there's nothing to truly be worried about...

But excessive animal protein has come under a lot scrutiny as of recently, so I do my best to limit that source...

Thank gawd for soy milk and eggs(the gold standard) :blessed:

The issue here is age 50 and up. Plus shouldn't eat meats like beef cause the digestion takes over 48 hours to pass through the body which isn't good for your body period. People at the age need to eat lean meat( less fat) proteins like turkey and eat fish like Salmon.

High Protein diets don't just mean you will get cancer. That isn't so much true.
:myman:

my aunt on my father's side had breast cancer.
other than that there is no cancer in my family that i know of.

one of the reasons i have not owned a cell phone for the past 7 years is the fact that it is a tiny microwave oven.
i don't want my DNA getting slow cooked all day.
I think I read somewhere that the waves that cell phones send out are too small to really do any real damage...

read from scientists paid by the telecommunication industry? :usure:

the fda doesn't even do adequate tests on food and drugs before they hit the market. the economy depends so much on those cellphone waves that they just don't give a fuq about effects on human...

What's the take on yogurt and cheese? Are these considered a part of "meat/animal protein" in the studies? Or is it just red meat and white meat?

Americans consume more than the recommended daily allowance of protein on average but it's from less ideal sources (fatty pork and beef). I've been trying to limit my intake of meat in general to once every other day. Eating a lot of whole grains have been my strategy in helping me feel satisfied until the next meal. It's crazy how whole grains are slept on. The USDA recommend at least 3 servings daily and most American don't get one. Brown rice and beans are a great protein alternative for people looking to get away from meat.

Well my friend, who is a Sound engineer and IT guy relayed this info and reading materials to me, and he first heard it from a professor who taught him :manny:.. It made since when he explained it... If we are worried about cell phones, then we should be equally worried about getting testicular cancer from our laptop with wireless internet resting on our lap...

@Rice N Beans :lolbron:

But nah they aren't slept on, problem with whole grains, is a lot of people are focused on a diet fad which insist on "limiting carbs" (low carb diet,) which I don't personally endorse...

There's actually plenty of sound alternatives to consuming protein, that don't involve an abundance of red meat / pork....

But yeah the RDA is like 275+ grams of carbs, per day....

Make sure you read the labels....soy is in a shyt load of products.
:patrice: fa sho, I'll go back and do some more research this weekend...

Pretty sure I checked the stuff I consume to be safe. I only mess with milk...Because that's a simple 8+ g of protein per serving...
