It does both, actually. CBD's are known to kill cancer cells.

This is an obviously biased link but there are plenty of articles out there that say the same thing from more reputable sources. I've witnessed it firsthand as well.

:whoa: :whoa: :whoa: I know you don't expect me to look through a website called "cure your own cancer". How about some peer reviewed data...

Here's the actual study -

Low Protein Intake Is Associated with a Major Reduction in IGF-1, Cancer, and Overall Mortality in the 65 and Younger but Not Older Population

Authors
See Affiliations
  • Highlights
  • High protein intake is linked to increased cancer, diabetes, and overall mortality
  • High IGF-1 levels increased the relationship between mortality and high protein
  • Higher protein consumption may be protective for older adults
  • Plant-derived proteins are associated with lower mortality than animal-derived proteins
Summary

Mice and humans with growth hormone receptor/IGF-1 deficiencies display major reductions in age-related diseases. Because protein restriction reduces GHR-IGF-1 activity, we examined links between protein intake and mortality. Respondents aged 50–65 reporting high protein intake had a 75% increase in overall mortality and a 4-fold increase in cancer death risk during the following 18 years. These associations were either abolished or attenuated if the proteins were plant derived. Conversely, high protein intake was associated with reduced cancer and overall mortality in respondents over 65, but a 5-fold increase in diabetes mortality across all ages. Mouse studies confirmed the effect of high protein intake and GHR-IGF-1 signaling on the incidence and progression of breast and melanoma tumors, but also the detrimental effects of a low protein diet in the very old. These results suggest that low protein intake during middle age followed by moderate to high protein consumption in old adults may optimize healthspan and longevity.

:lupe:

Obviously further study is needed, but I'm not going to dismiss the study just because I don't necessarily like the results. That said, it goes without saying that correlation does not equal causation.

One true fact is that, vegetarians / plant eaters by FAR statistically at lower risk of developing chronic diseases than meat eaters. But this isn't even a new acquisition ....

Fa sho I'll peep these links out later...

Most of the studies are done on animals because of the government stranglehold on pot/legality but I think the studies can be applied to humans quite easily. In the next few years you'll see a lot more proper research done as the drug moves towards legalization.

The issue here is age 50 and up. Plus shouldn't eat meats like beef cause the digestion takes over 48 hours to pass through the body which isn't good for your body period. People at the age need to eat lean meat( less fat) proteins like turkey and eat fish like Salmon.

High Protein diets don't just mean you will get cancer. That isn't so much true.

Even Vegetarians can become diabetics because of their eating of fruits and nuts. Natural sugar is still a large sugar intake.

they lose credibility by exaggerating the findings of some of these papers

example 1(first one I clicked on)
they claim this paper (amongst others) says that thc cures brain cancer, it does not say that; It can't say that. it is a pilot study, marijuana was not smoked, only 2 patients immunostained were reported to show a decrease in tumor cell proliferation

If you respect the findings of The China Study (and I do), it's not simply protein, but ANIMAL proteins that present the cancer risk, according to the book plant proteins are just fine.
