Games like GTA IV and RDR2 are based on realism so don't expect 1000% response time controls. This should be common sense

GTA Vs excuse is that it was sort of rushed, the game was reworked a couple times.
Max Payne is flabby n sick too and uses the same engine I believe. It's nothing to do with realism. the feel of the control is what's the issue. Driving in GTA V was improved from GTA IV and that didn't make the game really suffer. I think they can do it.

You aren't aware that every Rockstar game from GTA IV to today are using the same engine? :mjlol:

Are you under the assumption that game series shouldn't update their mechanics with the times/technology?

Rockstar doesn't have to change up anything because YOU aren't comfortable with it. It works and this how their games are played. You seem like the type of guy who wants the combat button to be square and r2 for running :hhh:

Should street Fighter also change it's inputs to appease you?

I didn't say one time what I was or wasn't comfortable with so I'm not sure where that came from... Also this is 2020... Fighting games let you have custom buttons... But neither of these things (comfort, button mapping) is anything I ASKED you about.

I'll try again... You seem to be saying Rockstar doesn't need to change anything. You seem to be actually upset that other people are asking for UPGRADES to their own system. So I'm asking you, do you think game companies should just keep the same shyt. Should GTA 6 play EXACTLY like GTA 5?

You're implying you aren't satisfied with Rockstars way of doing things. Don't play semantics to win an argument.

And you're wrong. I didn't say button mapping for SF, I said inputs. No matter if you're MK is linked to square or x the input to do a Tatsu is still gonna be down left. You can't alter special move inputs.

Upgrades to their control scheme or overall game engine? They update the game engine with every release.

I'm not sure but the point is the controls in their games since aside from Max Payne 3 have been sluggish and can use some sprucing.

I mean RDR2 was critiqued for that.

breh :russ:

I remember I used to run with this lil crew online doing heists and this one dude was talking about putting in overtime as a line cook to buy shark cards. :picard:

I had to mute my mic and roll around on the ground laugh-crying.

Rockstar has been using their own engine called R.A.G.E. they tweak it with every game.

GTA IV
Red Dead Redemption
L.A. Noire
Max Payne 3
GTA V
RDR 2

Same engine.

Well they should tweak it to feel more responsive like Max Payne 3. Max Payne 3 felt buttery smooth. I wish they'd remaster it for PS5/PC because it is DEAD on PC.

Ain't no damn semantics or argument. I asked a question trying to understand your point. You and that other guy was arguing. He's talking about the cover, shooting mechanics... You said you hated when nikkas say Rockstar's game design is outdated. I asked if you were under the assumption that a game company should never update their mechanics?

Take MGS. They made a complete change in engine/design/game when they went to 5. All the sudden you're recruiting, being dropped off for missions, the tapes, all of it was changed but still Metal Gear.. Or are you saying games need to just stay where they are. GTA 6 needs to pretty much be GTA 5 with new city/characters even if it's on PS5

You got your panties all in a bunch over some shyt I was never talking about. That's on YOU.

See you're doing it again lol

RDR2 isn't a fast paced action shooter.

GTA VI should be like RDR 2 with graphical improvements.

Breh, u saying RDR2 had no issues with the control and response?

Red Dead Redemption 2 guide to your controller

it could still look realistic while being responsive. If RDR2 literally patched it for better responsiveness and controls then this proves the controls were crappy to begin with and people saying it's fine were in denial. The game had bad controls.

Edit: Rockstar came out and said they were patching the controls dramatically.
And in addition to these roles, the next update will also deliver a variety of new content and improvements aimed at enhancing all your experiences inside the world of Red Dead Online, whether within roles, competitive modes or simply exploring free roam.

Substantial, across the board changes are being made to combat and movement to allow for a more responsive control system that still feels natural. Additional damage reduction to Defensive players is also on the horizon, and the game will now remember your preferred playing style (Offensive or Defensive) when you exit and relaunch the game. There will also be many more lootable items to be found throughout the world, like containers on wagons or the occasional Gold Tooth on an unfortunate soul.

The next Red Dead Online update will also feature the ability to reset your character’s appearance and much, much more.

Stay tuned for more details to come and check back for new weekly events in Red Dead Online.
