At points I felt like this was gonna be the one of the best "fall type" films (I know it came out in summer). After "the park" (you won't know unless you see the film), I was pretty much done. I didn't care about the characters and nothing really excited after the that.
Now, of course when I first saw her, I thought she looked 16 since I work in a high school. Don't know her real age. She might be grown. I thought the kiss was just going to be comedy thing to distract her. Then dude apologizes but this niguh was gonna go all the way. :picard: Totally threw me off guard. Yeah, I know I'm reaching but the arrest of the security guard just felt low key racist. I know it wasn't but the framing of him just didn't feel right.
THe trailer of him running through the window does not do it just. That was clearly the funniest part to me. My sense of humor is warped so I like laughing at the slow people in the film. So politically incorrect but so funny.
The kidnapping of the wrong brother was so obvious. Don't care how beat up your brother is, you know you brother. His brother was clearly bigger and heavier.
Solid film 3/4 of the way but could have been top contender.

I think the guys who made this have talent but they definitely need to channel it better because the narrative fell apart way too often. For every good scene there's one that does absolutely nothing and it just gets tedious after a while.

It certainly doesn't help that every character just kinda leaves the movie without closure and that's it. Like what's the point of taking the black girl with them and keeping her character around for another 30 minutes only to write her out of the plot like they do?

The movie is still a pretty wild ride and I love the atmosphere of it but in the end it falters too much to become a cult classic.

I gotta agree with you for once. I'm shocked this is so critically hailed and in most top 10 lists

In my top 5 this year.

I didn't think it would be top 5 when I saw it, but the way the year has unfolded...

Definitely the most surprising movie of the year for me. I could never predict what the fukk was going to happen and I had a lot of fun watching my guesses turn out wrong as fukk in ridiculous ways. Great dark comedy. I also had some genuine feeling for the mentally disabled brother and how much he wants to please his bro. I loved the ending with him.

just saw this the other day. thought robert pattinson actually had a great role, loved the music (shoulda got oneohtrix point never to do the new blade runner honestly) loved the filming of the movie. i think the second half felt anticlimactic to me though. also wish there had been more scenes with connie and nick because that was the driving point of why connie was doing all this shyt

I think it was the script.
all this and he never even finds his brother? :francis: Plus it really ground to a halt once he ended up at the house of the lady from the bus. Had tons of energy and momentum before that.

Poor Barkhad Abdi too. From Oscar nominee to security guard

Barkhad was driving cabs before Captain Phillips. Anything he gets now is basically gravy.

I liked this movie a whole lot. I've been a fan of the roles Pattinson's been choosing since Twilight. This could be the one that pushes him to the forefront of one of the best young actors in Hollywood.

This movie was very whatever to me. Interesting premise and well acted, but it felt like it never went anywhere and just kind’ve...happened. Kinda surprised at all the acclaim it got
