Breh she is! When I first saw the trailer for this film I was like :whoo:

I knew instantly I was gonna go see it with Taraji P Henson, Octavia Spencer, and not having seen janelle Monae act yet. But for her first major role she did a wonderful job.

She's very underrated tbh. She's good-looking plus I like the way she carries herself. She a real one.

I saw it with hubby. Really glad we did.
One of my kids went and saw it the other night with a friend and loved it too.

If nothing else the movie opened up millions of Americans to the true facts of even more of our contributions to this country.

Very fun fact: the part where the astronaut John Glenn says he specifically wants her to check the numbers is true.

The two main white characters (the blonde and the melted face skinny cac) were really accurate as far how nasty and condescending white folks can be. The Kevin Costner white savior character was some bullshyt. But I heard they quoted john Glenn's dialogue word for word

Hidden Figures is a movie about Black women making a mark for themselves at NASA in relation to the first American man being in space.

The movie features Taraji P Henson, the gorgeous Janelle Monáe, and Octavia Spencer. For Janelle Monae's first acting job, she did a wonderful job!

If you have a black daughter, niece, cousin, grand daughter, etc definitely take them to see this movie! It will boost their self-esteem and show them positive, intelligent examples of black women that aren't known for their bodies.

It's a great movie!

Watched it the day it came out. Very great film. Janelle did her thing. I wonder why she wasn't nominated for a golden globe and Oscar. She was great.

The AKAs were deep in the theatre too

hmmm gonna disagree with you here. it's 1960's and the worst they could be was "condescending" :mjlol:.

Well, Katherine Johnson herself said she wasn't mistreated as badly as she was in the movie. There was no colored tea pot and she didn't go 2 miles to use the bathroom. There is some nuance in the ways that she and the others were treated........only because they were literally human computers with the goal of some propaganda bullshyt cold war race. They needed her and the other women so they probably received less overt racism because of that. Most of the confrontational stuff that was in the movie was made up according to Mrs. Johnson. , i dont know what you wanted them to do......burn a cross in the middle of the office?

Well highly intelligent cacs (or anyone for that matter) have always been more "civilized" in their racism and adherence to WS.

With that said, I like how people are totally overlooking the Katherine Johnson looks damn near white, if not Asian. :dame:
