It was great to me. I can't find anything wrong with it. It was light. We don't always need these heavy ass drama filled movie about our accomplishments.Stop lying.
And I say this as someone who was excited to see it.

You need to stop watering down "black excellence". Subject matter was great. Execution was mediocre to veering toward subpar.

Breh she is! When I first saw the trailer for this film I was likeJanelle Monae is so fine.
I knew instantly I was gonna go see it with Taraji P Henson, Octavia Spencer, and not having seen janelle Monae act yet. But for her first major role she did a wonderful job.
