This what's confusing. Kawhi has been the best perimeter defender for about 5 years now and isn't even an elite athlete:dwillhuh:

Draymond look like the neighborhood wino and got nikkas calling him the goat defender in this era

:mjlol:

act like pistons Rodman didnt exist brehs

nikkas still getting clamped in this era.

draymon green has the athletic ability of an elephant but he's smart and is always in the right position defensively and he's a smart defender as well.

I agree but the point is you still have guys that aren't elite athletes being major contributors today. Nikkas talking like dudes in the 70s - 90s weren't shifty:gucci:

These fools forget that ninjas like Dr J learned to play on the streets/park not some rich catholic school like most of today's guys:sas2:

you bring up a 1 on 1 game when doc was in his 40s drinking budweiser and fukkin javale mcgee's mom as some point to try and shyt on him. He at that point had been retired 4-5 years while cap was just retired 2 years prior.
Grant is shaking nikkas out they boots if he plays in the Big 3 at 47. Or in any one on one against an ex big man today.

Stop capping Dr. J was in shape and was dunking the ball well into his 60’s. Dr. J skill set wasn’t as advanced at Grant Hill in terms of left to right movements.

It works both ways. MJ n Pip would probably struggle more on defense, but they'd likely be a little more effective at scoring with the relaxed rules and open game.

Jordan AVERAGED 30 points/game for his whole damn career, and he played a good portion of his career in a slower, defensive era.
No he didn’t that was only during his second 3-Peat

Do yourself a favor and compare the possessions per game from 1984-1993 to what it has been in the 2010’s

LeBron (2003-present) and Kobe (1996-2016) careers were spent in slower paced eras compared to Jordan

Kawhi is 6'7'' and doesnt have MJ or Pippen athleticism and be shutting nikkas down

/thread

Kawhi is 6'7 230 (and he probably heavier than that) with a 7'3 wingspan with the hands the size of Shaq's head. While Kawhi doesn't have the vertical explosion of MJ and Pippen, he is stronger than them, longer than them, with very good feet.

Let's put it this way,

Kawhi is the same height as Anthony Mason and Larry Johnson and 20 pounds lighter, going against guys like Lebron and Giannis and Paul George and KD. Tall, freakish motherfukkers that can play both the 3 and the 4 effectively.

Kawhi is the same height as Penny Hardaway and 30 pounds heavier.

Kawhi would probably be one of the strongest wing and longest wing players in the 1990s. The only player built like Kawhi in the 90s was Grant Hill. 6'8, 225 7'3 wingspan.

Even James Harden is 6'5 225 (he probably closer to 240) with 6'11, one of the strongest guards in NBA history, just stiff arming shoulder checking dudes out the way, got around 20 to 30 pounds on most guards today, he would weight more than most SFs in the 90s.

So just imagine we put James Harden and Kawhi back in time. They are stronger and longer than most star perimeter players in the 90s, on top of being more skilled and they aren't even the most vertically explosive players in the NBA, but more athletic than most guards back then.

Dudes in the 90s was 6'4 180, 6'7 200, 6'6 185.

Jimmy Butler out here 6'8 240 playing SG/SF, the size of 90s PF, the size of Lebron. Jimmy Butler would be the 4th heaviest player on the 72 win Bulls team and probably 3rd best skilled player on that team. Jimmy Butler would deebo everyone in the league in the 90s besides like 2 players.
