Tony Allen was 6’4 214 lb. of ripped muscle fiber with a 6’9 wingspan and was quite athletic which he showed with his slashing :dahell:

Pat Beverly is 6 ft nothing on a good day and built like a regular 9 to 5 nikka and is about to get 15 mil a year. Stop acting like every player in this era is a physical freak and every player in the 90s was some scrawny stick figure. There were athletic freaks in every era. Players today have better access to nutrition and science to put on more muscle but that doesnt make them better players and doesnt mean they wont get handled by a more skillful player.

Breh there’s no use arguing with Bron peasants.

Context can only be applied to him and his era.

Everything else must be taken at face value.

Edit: Marc Gasol won DPOY like 5 years ago :francis:

This what's confusing. Kawhi has been the best perimeter defender for about 5 years now and isn't even an elite athlete:dwillhuh:
:snoop: Kawhi is a very solid athlete with quick twitch

His combine vertical wasn’t high but he pretty much had the speed of a guard. He’s 235 lb., 7’3 wingspan, Shaq-like hands, great lateral quickness, and just has elite anticipation/savant like ability to read passing lanes and stay in front of people.

He has a much bigger natural frame than Scottie and Michael. He was 227 lb. coming out of San Diego State and he couldn’t even bench press like that. Since the draft he’s gotten more athletic and is freakishly strong.

I agree with you bruh. I’m not the one putting down players/eras.

You are.

Bron is in my top 10.

I’ll say it again, there’s only one side of this argument that is ACTUALLY dismissing players.

My problem with this era of the NBA has been the bytchassness of super teams and the east being shyt for a decade+.

Not the talent of the players.

The game evolves. Players get stronger, faster and more skilled. Training, medicine and nutrition are better. Maybe you can’t see it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.

Only :flabbynsick: nikkas try to deny it and pretend their era had better players.

It’s like that in every sport. shyt imagine Mike Haynes trying to cover DeAndre Hopkins, that shyt would be a massacre. Throw Carl Lewis in a time machine and he’s not even qualifying for the US team these days. Basketball is no different. Nobody in the 80s/90s is stopping Durant, Bron, Giannis etc that shyt is common sense.

The problem with this is we've seen an old fat Boris diaw give LeBron problems defensively. We've seen Tony Allen make Durant struggle. We just saw Toronto render giannis useless when he couldn't get into the paint

No current player is consistently stopping superstars today, so what's the point of saying dudes from the past couldn't?

Bruce Bowen made 8 all defensive teams in the 2000s

Danny green is considered to be an elite defender

But pippen can't give these guys problems today? :mjlol:

Jokic the G.O.A.T. passing big man :umad:

NO HES NOT.

HES JUST A PRODUCT OF THE SYSTEM.

HES A CAPABLE PASSER WHO HAPPENS
TO BE ON A TEAM THAT RUNS THE BALL MOVEMENT THROUGH HIM.

BUM ASS NOAH AVERAGED 5 DIMES
AND WAS A MVP CANDIDATE WHEN THIBS
DID THE SAME WITH HIM
AND HES NOT EVEN A SCORING THREAT.

WILT AVERAGED 8 & 9 DIMES
IN B2B SEASONS
WHEN HE DECIDED TO BE A TEAM PLAYER.

MANY BIGS COULD GET HIGH ASSIST TOTALS
IF THE COACH WANTS THEM IN THAT POSITION.
